Aswan Hotels with Bars

The check-in process became a bit unpleasant as their stated policies did not match what was written in our trip.com booking confirmation. This included check-in time and number of guests for the room. We included our children and even had their ages listed in the confirmation. Upon check-in we were told that it was only a room for two adults. We were then instructed to pay extra for one child. Policies should be conveyed clearly when booking so we can know what to expect. Otherwise, the room had a beautiful view and the kids enjoyed the large pool. The breakfast buffet had a great selection.

Welcoming guests: There is security check at the gate and the receptionist helps with luggage🧳 Check-in: The standard check-in time is 15:00. There is a butler so you don’t have to go to the front desk. We checked in early Room: The 3 river view rooms we booked are in the new building. The rooms are large, but the facilities are still a bit old Environment: The environment is really good, in a bay on the bank of the Nile, but it is not as amazing as imagined Breakfast: Breakfast is in the 1902 restaurant. There are very few things, and there are few hot dishes. You can ask the waiter for fried eggs Swimming pool: Children can swim in the outdoor swimming pool, but children are not allowed to use the indoor pool Amenities: There is a Carrefour nearby, just across the road, which is very convenient Others: There is a hotel tour at 16:00 in the afternoon, including the room where Gasha stayed, the corridor, and various restaurants. The Roosevelt room is not open at present.

The scenery is quite good. The service attitude is quite average. I went to the front desk and asked if I could pay for the room in Egyptian pounds. My attitude was extremely harsh. I didn't want to move to the hotel on the second night, so I inquired about extending my stay. The front desk asked me to go back to the room and call me. In the end, I didn't receive a call, so I checked out directly. The rooms in this hotel are quite large, and the facilities are relatively old. It feels like they are chosen by locals. In addition, you must choose the number of people according to the actual number. I accidentally selected one person, and ended up paying a price difference of dozens of dollars.

The hotel is not as good as expected. There’s no Nile view from our room, located at 2nd floor nor from the restaurant, so we didn’t see Nile from the hotel at all. The service didn’t make us feel welcomed. The receptionist didn’t say hello or welcome, and looked impatient. When we asked if the hotel has first aid kit, as my husband was scratched by a cat and needed sanitary treatment, the receptionist just directly said “No”, although he promised to check and came back to us, he didn’t… The room is good but the bathroom is quite old and the AC heat function didn’t work - it’s just around 8 degree during night in Aswan.

The Obelisk Hotel Aswan is the most amazing hotel I stayed in Aswan. I like it very much. It is right next to the Nile River. It is also the cleanest hotel I have stayed in Aswan. The staff provided excellent service and had a good attitude. The rooms were also cleaned very cleanly. The hotel has a restaurant with freshly squeezed juice. Orange juice is only more than ten yuan. The location is very good. There are KFC and McDonald's around. I can also take a boat next to the hotel. The boat weighs 200 pounds. Then I saw the Nubian village.

The main feature of this hotel is it's location on top of a hill overlooking the Nile. Also, you are able to use the facilities of its sister hotel, Basma Hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful, esp Meera who organised drivers and tour guide for us at short notice. The room was clean and spacious, and bathroom had all amenties, however the shower cubicle was on the small side and shower curtain just a couple cms too short so difficult to avoid getting the floor wet.

The hotel is very good, equipped with tennis courts, swimming pools, and golf courses. The scenery is great, you can see the Nile River as soon as you open the window. The bed is also very soft, and they also gave two extra quilts and two pillows for free. But it costs more than 1,000 pounds, which is a bit expensive. The breakfast is also very good. The hotel is also very cheap.

Located in the middle of a Nubian village, this hotel is very different to the polished world of resorts and cruise ships that most tourists will see when they come to Aswan. There is a market in the area where you can buy spices, teas, and jewelry. The aesthetic and vibe of the place is bright and colorful, the people are super friendly and there are a lot of camels. Nubian Palace is not just a hotel, but also a coffee shop and restaurant. The food is AMAZING! They even packed us a breakfast box for our early morning flight.

Exceeded my expectation
