"It’s one of if not the best hotel in Aswan, situated in an exclusive island with an amazing view of the Nile and Nubian village. The staff was super comforting and lovely. There’s a shuttle boat that runs 24 hours to the main center of Aswan. I had an incredible time here. <3"
"This is a very contradictory B&B hotel that I don't know if it is worth recommending. Its shortcomings and advantages are very prominent. It is suitable for Internet celebrities to make photos (the following photos are all original photos without retouching), but it is not suitable for anyone who has certain requirements for ”accommodation” itself. If you can find any cheap + clean + similar scenery alternative hotel, it is recommended to change it, but if it is just for taking pictures and scenery, it may be ranked at the top in Nubian Village.
First of all, you have to be able to tolerate:
1. The hotel price is not cost-effective in the peak season, and the B&B offers the price of a five-star hotel.
2. Poor room facilities, rough-style furniture and narrow rooms, worrying bed sheets, bathroom shower water overflowing and drainage is useless, no slippers, toothbrushes, hair dryers (phone front desk can provide).
3. The breakfast is self-service and extremely simple and unpalatable, unlike some people who commented on the set and inexplicably praised it.
4. Tolerate or pay more to continue to tolerate the complaints of the chartered driver to drive into Nubian Village, and then contact the hotel by yourself in the middle of the night to change to a three-wheeled motorcycle in the deserted and dark mountains for 15 minutes to doubt life and reach the mountaintop hotel.
5. Other prices are very unreasonable. We originally wanted to book dinner for the New Year's Eve party, but it cost 100 US dollars per person...
What did we get here?
1. The balcony of the room can see the unbeatable sunrise on the west bank of the Nile. We witnessed the first light of 2025 here at 6 am.
2. The various poses in the cultural buildings of the Nubian Village are very photogenic.
3. The desert next to the hotel is very photogenic.
4. A very special cultural experience of a group of tourists jumping up and down the mountain in a row of three-wheeled vehicles.
5. The hotel service staff is relatively friendly. Finally, it is explained that Egypt is not a country where tipping is allowed. Carrying luggage is a basic service of any hotel in their country. No one asked for tips during the entire stay."
"Except for the unstable hot water, hot and cold, and very few breakfast varieties, everything else is nice and the scenery is unparalleled. The food in the hotel's restaurant is good. You can only pay in US dollars. There is Nubian musical instruments playing in the evening. There is no wine for sale in the hotel. Passengers who drink alcohol need to buy it outside"

"After reading the mixed reviews online, I decided to book the hotel after some consideration. The experience wasn't as I'd feared. I called ahead and the hotel sent a car to pick me up at the airport on time with a sign (20 dollars), which was about the same as a taxi, but saved me a lot of hassle. The hotel was newly renovated, the rooms were spacious, the air conditioning was powerful, the facilities were good, and the rooms were clean. This is a rooftop guesthouse with a small pool and direct access to a large terrace, similar to the Basma Hotel below. Breakfast is served in a restaurant with stairs down to the main floor. There's a wide variety of dishes, but it's a standard European breakfast, which Chinese people might not be used to. If it weren't for the intense sun during the day, it would be quite relaxing to just lie outside. The river views were great morning and evening. The hotel staff were very polite. Although the language barrier was a bit high (my English was poor), they were always helpful with any requests. In the evening, they even offered welcome fruit, wine, and snacks. When I arrived, they also offered me wine and drinks while I was relaxing on the terrace. For the price, it felt like excellent value. I don't get this kind of service in China at this price."
"This small hotel is in a small village. I went in February. It was dry and cold. The air conditioner could be cooled. The wind in the door was very strong. The panoramic room had a balcony on one side and it was colder. Sara at the front desk is more professional and can ask her if she needs to ask, but she goes to work at 10 am. The one in charge of the bar was very unreliable. The pot of hot water for us was unwashed. The pot of milk was released. The water soaked was all paste. The food and hygiene were completely untrustworthy. And sold us two bottles of water. We didn't order it, he took it directly to us. So we thought it was breakfast, and finally showed us the price list and asked us for money. I said you didn't tell us, he said you didn't ask. Aswan's first stop impression is therefore very poor!"

"Food: Provides local food, fair price, good taste👍
Service: Good service, some staff can speak English, communication is barrier-free; round trip boat ride is free, round trip boat ride during the stay is 200 pounds, round trip to Philae Temple is 400 pounds (it seems that the temple pier charges some fees); we asked the hotel to book a car to Abu Simbel Temple, 4100 Egyptian pounds, a little expensive but it seems to be a service provided by a formal company, the driver is very good👍
Environment: The hotel is opposite the Philae Temple, and it takes about ten minutes to take a boat from the pier to the island where the hotel is located. The scenery of the Nile is beautiful: there will be some geckos in the room, hahaha, but there is no problem with going to the toilet and taking a shower, and the sanitary conditions are better than expected.
Overall, it is worth recommending. There is no wifi, but it is an interesting natural experience."
"This hotel is in the middle of the Nile River, which means that you need to drive a boat. The hotel has a boat. It is basically 200 pounds at a time, almost 30 RMB. It is mainly not hot and traffic jams. It should be 200 no matter how many people are. My friend and I are 100 per trip, and RMB 10 yuan. And this old man is very good, take us to their Nubian village to see the crocodiles, and take us to catch fish, people are very good. Super recommended, the room is really a bit stuffy, but there is air conditioning, basic facilities are available, we have no wifi when we live, but it is not important."
"Service: Friendly, the hotel front desk is pretty good
Environment: OK, you can see the Nile River
Sanitation: No dead corners found
Facilities: OK
Overall, the house is quite big, and the value for money is quite high for the price"

Amazing
AAnonymous UserThe Old Cataract Hotel was *the* reason I came to Aswan!! The ambiance is simply unparalleled. I highly recommend staying in the new wing; the views are even better! For those who want to experience the old building, you can book a tour to see Agatha Christie's room. And the breakfast was absolutely divine!
GGuest UserThe homestay is located next to the Elephant Island Pier, and you can walk there as soon as you get off the boat. The transportation is convenient.
The sanitary conditions are very good, the room is clean and tidy, and there are hair dryers, shower gel and shampoo. There is a small living room on the first floor for rest and tea.
The boss is very nice. He took the initiative to contact us and came to the pier to greet us and help with the luggage. He made fruit tea for us, and on the second night he sent us freshly squeezed mango juice and a bracelet made by his daughter. The English is very good and we can communicate smoothly.
If I come to Aswan again, I will stay here again.
PPedroMy stay was amazing, i enjoyed every moment in this hotel the breakfast was amazing, also the roof with a beautiful view for the nile , the staff was super amazing and nice also helpful they prepared a trip and they have a free tour to the nubian village 😍
By the way the hotel manage my new founder they make renew for all the hotel , highly recommended love you all ♥️♥️
CChenyiyinikezhenbangya1. The hotel is new, and the staff is very friendly. They don't ask for tips, but we gave them a £50 tip because they were so friendly.
2. The room was spacious, with a view of the Nile. Compared to the rooms at the Old Falls, which are over £3,000, the rooms over £3,000 are just plain shabby.
3. The breakfast was good, but we didn't have time to eat. They packed it for us when we left at 4:00 AM.
4. It's a bit remote, so after taking a taxi, you have to walk a bit on a dirt road.
GGuest UserVery good hotel, very convenient for travel, the scenery is also good, good value for money, economical and affordable, the room is very quiet, the food is also delicious, you can drink duck, it's great, hehe, happy
GGuest UserThe location is excellent, right on the Nile River. However, the rooms are quite small. The breakfast restaurant was good, offering outdoor seating right by the Nile to enjoy your meal. A ferry to Elephantine Island is conveniently located right next to the hotel, which was very handy.
FFeliciayangThe scenery of the hotel is very good, the Nile River can be seen from the restaurant, and the breakfast is not bad. The room facilities are relatively simple, similar to those of old domestic 3-star hotels. The bedsheets are a bit lacking in hygiene. Bring your own bedsheets. There are no USB charging ports, slippers, etc. The hotel is in an upper location, 20 minutes away from KFC, and there are few restaurants nearby. My friend who was traveling with me booked a room at Qunar. When I checked in, I was told that there was no reservation, so I almost didn't get it. Ctrip is relatively reliable.
RrealrayFacilities: The hotel is on the island, and the entire island is within the scope of the hotel. The hardware facilities are acceptable and the environment is beautiful. The seats outside the restaurant are not well maintained due to the small number of people.
Hygiene: Overall hygiene is OK. But the seats outside the restaurant are relatively dirty
Environment: The environment is relatively beautiful
Service: The service is acceptable.
GGuest UserAmazing time ,basic rooms ,but clean beds towels. Hot shower and the best view but 100% of the credit for our amazing time goes, to helma the manager and his staff especially khalid who was there for everything we needed , Helmy went above and beyond driving us to the sights for less than.a taxi , but the most amazing was. The Nile under our Balcony full of. Feluka boats to take you to ancient temples and delicious waterside cafes and historic islands this hotel might look nothing.but if you want the true Nubian experience of aswanth8s 8s the place for you ,basic breakfast of bread honey eggs and cheese with tomatoes for the price amazing ,, Linda and ivy uk x
GGuest UserOld-style hotel. On a slope. It's OK to walk to the dining area. It's really inconvenient to be on the slope.
Compared with the hotel in the previous trip. The facilities of this hotel are really old. But it's still clean and tidy. There's nothing wrong with it. It's just that compared with the new equipment, the cost performance is really not high enough. Because the price of the hotel in the previous trip is similar, but the experience is better.
The room has its own balcony. It's OK to dry clothes.
The hotel has its own restaurant. The breakfast variety is also quite satisfactory, but I personally feel that there are not many things I can eat. Generally, I just eat omelette and fruit. Other bread slices or some beans, I don't like to eat.
My friend booked a room facing the river. But because it is on the slope and not so close to the river, this river view room is not so cost-effective.
The view of the swimming pool. It is indeed a good place for this hotel to be photographed. We also saw someone holding a wedding here that day.
It's really unfriendly to take a taxi in this city. Compared with other cities, the drivers here are really...
