"We had to extend our stay to three nights as our cruise dates were changed. The manager was so kind and offered us an upgrade. I’m truly grateful for that because the view from our room was amazing. It’s pretty hot during the day, so we stayed indoor during the day and went out later on in the afternoon. The only downside of the hotel is its distance from downtown Aswan. There are no stores or shops close by, so do plan your meals ahead of time or you can have lunch or dinner at the rooftop of the hotel. The entrance of the hotel is kind of hidden. You need to walk down a set of steep stairs to get into the building, then to a different floor to check in. The room had everything we needed for the stay. It’s quite spacious and had a fridge, TV and and big closet. There is a bathtub in the bathroom but the shower area doesn’t have a door. The AC works great and kept us nice and cool. We had breakfast everyday, and the content is pretty similar to all other Egyptian hotels but it’ll keep you full if you finish everything. If you don’t like the hustle bustle near the center of Aswan and don’t mind the walk or taking cab, this would be a good option for a quiet, peaceful stay with a great view of the Nile."

"The homestay is located next to the Elephant Island Pier, and you can walk there as soon as you get off the boat. The transportation is convenient. The sanitary conditions are very good, the room is clean and tidy, and there are hair dryers, shower gel and shampoo. There is a small living room on the first floor for rest and tea. The boss is very nice. He took the initiative to contact us and came to the pier to greet us and help with the luggage. He made fruit tea for us, and on the second night he sent us freshly squeezed mango juice and a bracelet made by his daughter. The English is very good and we can communicate smoothly. If I come to Aswan again, I will stay here again."

"HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! First of all it is like a staying with your family far from home, in a very tourist welcoming area in general but also the hotel. All Nubian people are welcoming and honest; especially if you are coming from somewhere other than Egypt you will feel refreshed getting rid of bargaining. Hotel arranged an Abu Simbel transportation (which was 3 hours away)with lunch box for us early in the morning at 04:00 am we came back around 1 pm and take a tour to Philae Temple then came back to hotel (which was our cozy home) and Ahmed took us to village as a local, guided as and provided fair prices, we experienced their culture seeing the magnificently painted surroundings also jumping in local houses with tortoise and crocodiles, and they have provided us transportation to Aswan Train Station. I even felt sad because of leaving a place with full of brothers. Thanks to Ahmed (both), Ms Mai, Mohammed and Islam. It was an amazing experience, you shall not say i’ve visited Egypt before seeing Nubian Village."

"The iconic location and legendary charm of the Old Cataract speak for themselves, and the quality of the Sofitel Legend brand is absolutely top-notch. During my trip to Egypt, I stayed at several excellent hotels, including Mena House, Rixos, and Waldorf Astoria, but for me, the rooms here were by far the most impressive. The balcony was incredible, offering breathtaking, panoramic views of the Nile. The entire hotel is simply stunning. The service was also exceptional. The only minor drawback was perhaps the somewhat limited breakfast selection. Otherwise, everything else was perfect!"

"The location is excellent, right on the Nile River. However, the rooms are quite small. The breakfast restaurant was good, offering outdoor seating right by the Nile to enjoy your meal. A ferry to Elephantine Island is conveniently located right next to the hotel, which was very handy."

"A friend of mine went to Nubian with a tour group before and felt that it was not fun and the conditions were primitive, but the experience of traveling independently is completely different. It is like drinking water for a pony crossing the river. We all have the experience of staying in luxury hotels. This time, I mustered up the courage to travel instead of vacation, hoping to experience the local customs and customs to a certain extent, and to see the world from a different perspective... My phone fell, and the Tuktuk guy immediately took it back to find it. The kind Nubian girl reminded me in time to prevent me from losing my passport. The phone fell at the counter at the airport and was promptly informed by the kind ground staff... Basam of the hotel helped us arrange a chartered boat from the east bank of the Nile to the hotel directly after going down the river for dozens of minutes. I watched the moon and stars on the top of the boat, and drifted on the quiet Nile River under the moonlight. These are special experiences that are not available on XHS... There is also Nubian dance in the hotel at night! The breakfast is also rich and the scenery is beautiful! Breakfast on the Nile!"

"Booking hotels in Aswan and Luxor was a real struggle. In Luxor, I stayed at a Ctrip Five Diamond hotel. In Aswan, we stayed at this guesthouse in a Nubian village. The surroundings weren't particularly impressive, but overall, the guesthouse was quite good. The thin, dark-skinned receptionist was particularly kind. I had already prepared a tip, but he wasn't supposed to be on duty on our last day. I can only give him a verbal compliment. They provided a welcome drink and a takeaway breakfast early in the morning, which was great, as we'd arranged it in advance. However, it's quite far from the city center, and taxis are not only expensive but also nearly impossible to get."

Great
GGuest UserAfter seeing so many negative reviews, I booked this hotel with some trepidation. I'd like to say, the hotel wasn't as bad as the negative reviews suggested; on the contrary, it was quite good overall. First, the location: perched on a hilltop next to the Old Falls, offering a commanding view of both the Falls and the Nile. The hotel has two swimming pools: a larger one in the Old Basma and a smaller one at the top of the hill, which is where I booked the Basam Executive Club. The smaller one is quite small, but thankfully, it's high up and offers a great view. Secondly, the rooms seemed renovated, and the furniture and amenities weren't outdated. Upon arrival, I was even upgraded to a suite, which had a large terrace, a living room, a sofa, and a bar. It was spacious and very comfortable for two people. Finally, the service: the staff were very friendly. Although some didn't speak English, they were always willing to help, or call someone who did. They didn't ask for tips for luggage, etc. The room was clean, and they even provided welcome fruit and snacks. Overall, it was a very good experience.

GGuest UserThe hotel is right by the Nile River. There is a large area full of his homes. It is a bit like a more distinctive homestay. It is in Nubian style, and there are many distinctive decorations in the room. The hotel is located in the suburbs, and the surrounding area is deserted and remote, so it is also very quiet. The hotel we booked to pick us up from Cairo to Aswan was charged $55. It took about 40 minutes to drive. I felt cheated. In fact, you can call a taxi directly from the airport. It is not as chaotic as it is said on the Internet. The breakfast in the hotel is not bad. The fried egg is very delicious. There is a waiter who is Nubian. He is very nice to me. He will take the initiative to help me carry things and remind me to pay attention to the steps. It is the most sincere and friendly service I feel in my trip to Egypt. Unfortunately, I forgot to ask his name. When I left, I wanted to find him to tip but couldn't find him.

JjzycnThis is a very contradictory B&B hotel that I don't know if it is worth recommending. Its shortcomings and advantages are very prominent. It is suitable for Internet celebrities to make photos (the following photos are all original photos without retouching), but it is not suitable for anyone who has certain requirements for ”accommodation” itself. If you can find any cheap + clean + similar scenery alternative hotel, it is recommended to change it, but if it is just for taking pictures and scenery, it may be ranked at the top in Nubian Village. First of all, you have to be able to tolerate: 1. The hotel price is not cost-effective in the peak season, and the B&B offers the price of a five-star hotel. 2. Poor room facilities, rough-style furniture and narrow rooms, worrying bed sheets, bathroom shower water overflowing and drainage is useless, no slippers, toothbrushes, hair dryers (phone front desk can provide). 3. The breakfast is self-service and extremely simple and unpalatable, unlike some people who commented on the set and inexplicably praised it. 4. Tolerate or pay more to continue to tolerate the complaints of the chartered driver to drive into Nubian Village, and then contact the hotel by yourself in the middle of the night to change to a three-wheeled motorcycle in the deserted and dark mountains for 15 minutes to doubt life and reach the mountaintop hotel. 5. Other prices are very unreasonable. We originally wanted to book dinner for the New Year's Eve party, but it cost 100 US dollars per person... What did we get here? 1. The balcony of the room can see the unbeatable sunrise on the west bank of the Nile. We witnessed the first light of 2025 here at 6 am. 2. The various poses in the cultural buildings of the Nubian Village are very photogenic. 3. The desert next to the hotel is very photogenic. 4. A very special cultural experience of a group of tourists jumping up and down the mountain in a row of three-wheeled vehicles. 5. The hotel service staff is relatively friendly. Finally, it is explained that Egypt is not a country where tipping is allowed. Carrying luggage is a basic service of any hotel in their country. No one asked for tips during the entire stay.

GGuest UserThe check-in process became a bit unpleasant as their stated policies did not match what was written in our trip.com booking confirmation. This included check-in time and number of guests for the room. We included our children and even had their ages listed in the confirmation. Upon check-in we were told that it was only a room for two adults. We were then instructed to pay extra for one child. Policies should be conveyed clearly when booking so we can know what to expect. Otherwise, the room had a beautiful view and the kids enjoyed the large pool. The breakfast buffet had a great selection.

JJoshDBWIt’s a 2 sided coin with this hotel, some positives and some negatives in all areas. Location is very close to the Nile river and train station which is convenient but the balcony of our hotel room looked out on some garbage tipping sights that were always crazy busy with construction, wild dogs barking, and Islamic prayers blaring from speakers until the early hours. The service at reception was okay depending on who was there at the time and they did organise the trip to Abu Simbel on a day’s notice. The wifi never worked but the room was clean and comfortable enough. Overall, not bad price for the room - reconsider using if you have trouble sleeping with loud noises or need wifi.

IIvy828The hotel is not as good as expected. There’s no Nile view from our room, located at 2nd floor nor from the restaurant, so we didn’t see Nile from the hotel at all. The service didn’t make us feel welcomed. The receptionist didn’t say hello or welcome, and looked impatient. When we asked if the hotel has first aid kit, as my husband was scratched by a cat and needed sanitary treatment, the receptionist just directly said “No”, although he promised to check and came back to us, he didn’t… The room is good but the bathroom is quite old and the AC heat function didn’t work - it’s just around 8 degree during night in Aswan.

GGuest UserWhat you see is what you get, very cute place. The whole village is super cute in dopamine style! Breakfast is delicious, you can eat on the balcony and the scenery is particularly good, directly see the Nile! The sister of the homestay also took me to touch the little crocodile for free! Super experience! This small village is especially suitable for hanging out and relaxing for a leisurely day!

However, I recommend you to book on-site at the hotel front desk. The price will be much cheaper than booking online. Based on my order For example, it will be 1/3 cheaper.
