Yes, the hotel is very old and the rooms lack modern amenities. There are only two elevators so there is a bit of a wait. The food was average, the onsen was also average.
However, these shortcomings are reflected in the price. Combined with the location, shuttle service, buffet dinner and breakfast, this hotel is still very good
The Japanese-style room was very clean and did not affect sleep at all at night. The shower facilities may be old, but since it is a public onsen, I don't think it is a problem. The elevator wait time was less than a minute.
The perfect place to enjoy the fireworks from the balcony of your room on a cold winter day. It's relaxing and warm, and you can just sit and enjoy it. I can't imagine a better fireworks experience than this.
Also, the buffet style dinner and breakfast were satisfying as we were free to choose what we liked and the selections were plentiful and some were quite good.
Although the hot spring is a bit old, it is clean, tidy and warm. I think there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. But remember to bring your own towel, as the hot spring does not provide towels.
The hotel transfer service was excellent and on time. Please remember to read the instructions on the official website (transfer to the hotel) and make an appointment for the return transfer service at the front desk, which is very convenient and saves money.
Front desk was also very helpful, even though I barely spoke Japanese, they made an effort to communicate with me.
Other reviews might expect 5 star quality but we really enjoyed our stay which was great value for money.
