We stayed at the hotel for the Atami Fireworks. Location is a nice easy walk down the slopes to the shopping streets. Plenty of amenities nearby. Room was clean and the space was well thought out. Staff is helpful. The carpark attendant that day wasn't the most friendly but that didn't spoil the stay.
We were recommended not to drive to the pier for the fireworks because of traffic jam, which turns out to be true as cars were waiting just get out of carparks. However, it's a steep walk back after the fireworks as we followed google maps for the shortest route back but it surprised us with stairs. Could be an easier walk if we had retrace our steps although the distance would be longer.

Service is excellent. Once we called them at Atami Train Station, their car arrived in 10 mins to pick us up. The free ride from/to train station is very helpful. Free drinks and snacks during happy hours 3-5pm is very good. We have seafood, beef, fish and semi buffet for dinner. The beef was good. Fish is okay. Overall the services are very good and staffs can speak English that made it easy to communicate. The ocean view from our room is beautiful.

Outstanding
GGuest UserThe trip to Atami and Izu exceeded our expectations. My family loved it, especially the Atami Hideaway Holiday House where we stayed. The proprietress is Chinese and very enthusiastic. On the day of arrival, she gave us a detailed explanation and recommended the popular attractions in Atami, including how to get there, what are the characteristics, etc. It was very valuable for us who came to Atami for the first time. We also walked along the route recommended by the proprietress. It felt much better than wandering around by ourselves, saving a lot of time! Let me talk about the hotel room: it is super big and very quiet. You can see the seaside in the room. It is a typical Japanese style. The facilities and hygiene are very good! I also recommend the hot springs in the hotel. It is very refreshing to soak after coming back from shopping at night. When we went to Atami Station, the Japanese boss drove us there specially. In short, the evaluation of this hotel is absolutely true. I highly recommend friends who come to Atami to stay here. It is very worthwhile!
SSarahAlthough some people may feel that it’s a hassle to do online check-in without a ‘proper’ hotel front desk assistance, we didn’t have any issues. We could submit our personal details via our mobile phones anywhere anytime prior arriving. Then upon arriving, using the PIN sent to our emails, we could smoothly enter the entrance. At the lobby, there were tablets, for each guests to take their picture for verification to the information we had submitted beforehand. Then we were connected to a call centre which asked us some simple questions then it was done. We loved that there were free flow of hot & cold drinks, alcohol and non-alcohol, free flow chocolates/sweets/japanese nuts available. We were a group of 7, so we used the common space for our meals. The rooms were huge for Japan standards with a small sink, dining table attached. Each booking came with a car park lot. The car park is just a 2-3 minutes drive away and we just parked accordingly to our room number. I cannot be more pleased with my stay here and will definitely recommend friends to stay here.
AAlan Kirkland StaunI suppose the charm of Atami is that the whole area is a little bit 'dated' as far as a resort goes, and this hotel definitely aligns with that - it seems like a place that was once great and is now kind of just rolling along bringing in what money it can.
The food is serviceable but totally uninspired - an upscale cafeteria masquerading as something better than it is with 'chefs' wearing their whites. The entire dining room constantly smells of fryer oil from the tempura - which they still make and keep stock of in such large quantities that it is never fresh and crispy anyways (especially the shrimp, which has not been sufficiently dried before battering). The remaining hot dishes are very disappointing both in terms of variety and overall flavor. The sushi and sashimi is the standout of the food, although it too is very basic - not anything that will blow your mind, but acceptably tasty and reasonably fresh (although on our second night everything tasted a bit soapy/bleachy). As a westerner you will be very disappointed by the breakfast, although that's a 'me' problem rather than a hotel problem per se.
The spa facilities are nice but a bit dated - be careful in your selection of both time and location unless you want to be surrounded with many loud (mostly Chinese) children. Private spas are available and are quite nice, although again dated. Nonetheless at around 60 USD for an hour the price is good for the privacy, especially as a westerner who is otherwise subject to quite a bit of staring at this mostly local and Chinese spa.
We stayed in a deluxe king room, which was spacious with an enormous and comfortable bed, and a (For japan) reasonably sized tub. Room and desk service was good.
The hotel is a bit off the beaten path but has regular free shuttles to/from Atami station, which is where the main tourist streets for shopping etc can be found. Highly suggest checking out Golden Eye for some excellent Ramen.
EEmmm_ptyThe Japanese-style sea view room I stayed in also had someone help me lay out the tatami mat during meal time. I have stayed in a similar room in Izu, so I suggest you book a twin room here. The hotel has a shuttle bus to and from Atami Station, and the breakfast and dinner are average.
CConstantin Maximilian+:
The service was really kind and let me check in even though the beds weren't made since I was way too early.
The location is really nice not too far away from the train station and close to the sea side promenade and beach.
Luggage store room under bed was quite spacious
They have an extra room with a small billard table
-:
only one shower and toilet for men (same for women), so you had to wait sometimes, the most in the morning before check out.
Entrance is hard to find in a dark small alley in the corner of a street.
CCYYTheir service is wonderful. We left a charger in our room and they quickly locate it and return it. I understand that they use a plastic bag to hold all customer property left in their room and labelled it with dates and room no. This shows how they care about their customers and address to things systemically with every single details. This is one of the many times I forgot things in hotel and public transport and can get things back every time. Speechless!
GGuest UserIt was a quaint, cozy hotel situated close to JR Atami Station. The hotel has very good food for both dinner and breakfast! The staff are friendly and even though they can't speak good English, they tried their best to communicate to the best of their knowledge and I really appreciate it! I especially enjoyed my time at the onsen on the rooftop, it has good facilities.
The only thing is the cleanliness of the room, since there is still water in the kettle from the previous guests, I didn't want to drink any water from the kettle because of it. They should replace it with a new kettle or clean it. Otherwise, the room is also very cozy, they give yukatas for guests to wear them around the hotel and they also offer free transport to JR Atami station. Otherwise, I would have struggled to get around since there is lack of public transportation at Atami!
I still have a very good time and enjoyed my time because of the friendly staff at the hotel, they are very helpful! 10/10 will come back again with my friends or family in the future.
RrinnリンThe bathroom is surprisingly clean. The location is good and not far from JR, but there is a slope. There is only one bathroom. The boys' bathing time is too short. They will not have enough time to take a bath after returning from the fireworks festival. Basic toiletries, disinfectants, etc. are all provided. Anyway, there are many charged items, so it’s best to bring your own. Breakfast is a bowl of Ochazuke rice with an egg. The self-service option includes dishwashing. If you don’t have any requirements for breakfast, you can consider it.
PPumpkinOverall, it could be rated excellent as a local ryokan but may not be ready for international clients. It has won Rakuten bronze award 2023. I am particular about smoking and the non smoking room was full of smoky smell. Also surprised that I have to set up my own tatami bed etc. Staff dependent on google translate but stranded when there's no WiFi. They could have translated common phrases in text. Nice garden.
KKunduSouravThis is a traditional Japanese Ryokan style hotel. All instructions are in English however, means there are foreigners regularly staying here. There is a open air onsen (hot bath) which is very pleasant. Must be reserved in advance. Drinks can be bought at 200 yen a pop. This is a fully unmanned Ryokan meaning it self check in and self checkout ! The rooms are very small (4 meter square) which barely fits a bed. Pictures on the travel sites about the rooms in this hotel are deceiving ! The location is sort of OK from Kinomiya station but it's quite far from Atami city center and Atami sun beach . We took at taxi which was 1200 yen. Kinomiya Jinja is 25 minutes by foot.
The average price for hotels in Atami is AED 1,511 on weekdays, and AED 1,710 on weekends (Friday-Saturday).
