Getting to the hotel was easy.
There was a man who seemed to be a homeless person in a vacant lot nearby, but there were restaurants nearby so I don't think it was that dangerous.
The staff were very kind and gentle.
The restaurant on the rooftop of the hotel was wonderful!
There was a welcome drink service. It seems to turn into a bar đ¸ at night.
The view from the rooftop was also amazing.
The room was clean. It was compact but spacious enough. There was a refrigerator, kettle, and amenities. It was comfortable.
I would like to stay again if I have the opportunity.

Sometimes it's the little details that make a hotel experience go from simply pleasant to special, and in this case I have to point out two, which really pleased me. ďżź
1) They put a bottle of water in my room for free every day, even though I was supposed to receive it only on the first day ďżź
2) On the day of departure they opened the breakfast room a quarter of an hour earlier than expected, to allow me to eat and drink something before going to the airport. Usually, when breakfast is included, the hotel prepares a doggy bag for you, which is not exactly the same thing.

The new hotel is so well decorated and facilities are great. The location is at the exit of the omonia subway station and you can see it as soon as you leave the station. Although it is located in the most chaotic area of Athens in legend, the actual experience of the hotel itself is very safe.

This hotel is highly recommend for both its LOCATION and very efficient/PROFESSIONAL staffs at reception!
From Monastiraki a 7min walk / frm Syntagma 3mins walk!
Buffet breakfast; EXCELLENT! I arrived on the day where the public road was closed due to an annual street demonstration, not to mention the fatigue Iâm encountering after traveling for 3 months BUT the great hospitality at Arethusa made everything pleasant.
Rooftop terrace at Lvl 9 gives a view of Acropoli, PERFECT!
Room is well equipped, SPOTLESSLY CLEAN! Standing shower has a great water pressure.Extra comforter is provided in cupboard which is very helpful during this winter. A/C heater in room works well too!
Arethusa Hotel deserves a better grade for its excellent service/quality! I am glad i managed to book a room with them!
Highly recommend to both solo travellers or couple, street is quiet/safe in the night.
THANK YOU TO ALL THE STAFFS OF ARETHUSA!

GGuest UserAmazing hotel right in the center of Athens and so much shopping and restaurants around you. The staff were all amazing and for sure I am coming back to this hotel next time. Special thanks Maria she was soo awesome and welcoming . Also, to the hotel manger Charis. Everyone is amazing in this hotel. Thank you guys !
GGuest UserGreat location as all main tourist sites (including Kerameikos and Filopappou Hill) were walkable - also outside the main tourist area, which was a plus. Roof terrace also pleasant at the end of the day.
Hotel facilities are limited: WiFi, internet tv only (on mine you had to log in with your own details), aircon, tea/coffee, free bottled water. Cold breakfast option (set price of âŹ10 - not âŹ8 as shown on the website). Airport pick-up is now also âŹ50 (more than shown currently on website).
Rooms modern but.mine was starting to look slightly tired. In theory it was a âsuiteâ suitable for four (two small rooms) but this would have been extremely cramped, particularly as each room had only a âspace saverâ type wardrobe ie. wardrobe rail coming out from the wall with a mirror in front and no other storage and a sofa bed in the âliving roomâ.
Despite the website description of each room with (only) a power shower, mine had a shower over the bath.
Service was average: front desk tried to be helpful but local knowledge was lacking. Bed was made each day, but tea/coffee/water were not refreshed and used glasses and mugs were not cleaned. Despite this, towels WERE refreshed daily and there was no option (card or other mechanism) to get this stopped. I was surprised: it seems that saving water and energy had passed the hotel by entirely.
In conclusion: compared to other prices and areas of Athens I paid a reasonable amount, but given the reviews had expected more from the hotel, although I couldnât honestly say that it was bad, just âaverageâ.
GGuest UserA very cost-effective hotel, clean and warm, with a super good location, only 3-5 minutes to the Acropolis and the Acropolis Museum. After visiting the Acropolis Museum, it was still early for our scheduled visit to the Acropolis, so it was very convenient to go back to the hotel to rest before coming out. The hotel staff were very nice and professional. I had a problem with the tickets I booked online, and they helped me solve it. Thank you very much!

GGuest UserThis was a great stay for us and our family. The hotel is conveniently located near many popular sights and eateries in Athens and most were within a 10-20 minute walk. The nearby Monastiraki metro station made it easy to get to and from the airport as well.
The rooms are nicely appointed with a couple of chairs, work station, coffee/tea station, closet, mini fridge and TV. The beds were small but comfy enough. Our family had a 2 and 3 bed rooms and we found the 2 bed room was a lot more spacious. The bathrooms in both were small but we appreciated that the hot water came on quickly and there was a small window for ventilation. Our room was quiet at night but our family noted street noise on the lower floors. The elevators were often tricky to catch as they are small but we appreciated it when we didn't feel like the climb to the sixth floor.
The amenities at the hotel were good for the price. The roof top patio and bar area was a highlight and we enjoyed a couple of afternoons up here watching the sun set and the lights turn on at the Acropolis. The prices of the bar were inexpensive and they had a good variety of options. There was a sitting room that had tea and coffee midday and they kept it open in the evening so we were able to sit together and talk. They had laundry service, baggage storage and could help arrange tours or car hires as well at the front desk with their friendly and welcoming staff.
The breakfast at this hotel was very good for the price. They had something for everyone and lots of place to sit. Highlights for us were the Greek yoghurt and the spinach and feta stuffed pastries. They also had mini sausages, bacon, scrambled eggs, feta cheese, cucumber, tomatoes, breads, baklava, croissants, dried fruits, fresh fruits, juices and a coffee machine. We looked forward to breakfast each morning.
The hotel provided a good base for exploring and was centrally located. We would say if you're looking to save money and have a good breakfast to start your day in Athens this hotel is a good choice.

GGuest UserUnfortunately this hotel was a complete nightmare, I arrived with serious eye infection and got no understanding or help from the staff. Noone helped me getting to the hospital. Then I even got a horrible room that was noisy, and NO window that could be opened. While complaining to the manager the next day I got even treated worse making up lies that I was yelling to the staff, which is NOT TRUE. I was just in pain asking for a better room or better service. Oh also they recommended the parking space for my super expensive car claiming its SAFE to leave them my car keys. I asked twice if this is really safe as my complete luggage is still in the car. When I went there to get my luggage out, the car was open!!! with the key inside. In the middle of Athens and noone there even from this parking team. like a complete fail on sooo many levels. The heating system is always on in the rooms making huge noise, also the pool downstairs has crazy machines making the whole night sounds. I am so happy I found another beautiful hotel around the corner quiet and excellent service!!!! Just dont stay there, its not good. Even the pool area is a joke and no jacuzzi in winter on the roof, they are not worth any visit!

AAriadna TThe hotel is centrally located at only 5 min walk from Omonoia Square. Staff was friendly and welcoming with a good knowledge of the city. The street where is located feels safe, not the parallel ones, but it is extremely noisy day and night (even with the window closed) which prevents you from having a proper sleep. There was a common door which was open at all times to enter the hall to access my room and the neighbours and that didn't feel very safe. In addition, there was a strong tobacco smell at all times inside the from and at the hall despite smoking indoors being forbidden. Breakfast was expensive, the quality of the food wasn't great and there was very little variety of hot items in the buffet since the sausages and other food items were kept warm. There was no staff to greet you or clean the tables at the breakfast room either. The hotel and the room were clean though. So still a good option given the high accommodation prices.
SShobyThat hotel can easily be the best hotel in the area if they paid more attention to the renovation issue.. The place is well located and nice old classic design..
Staff are very helpful and breakfast was ok too..
They can't be blamed about few homeless people around as it's like that everywhere around that area.
CCY LEE 97Cheap hotel, rented here just to rest and take a shower after a day trip in Athens, and go to Santorini tomorrow morning. The hotel is close to the subway station, the facilities are old but have a classic feel, especially the elevator. The service is always answered, whether you understand or not is another matter. The boss's English is not very good.
