We detoured and visited for coffee and brownie cookie on a hike from totaranui to tonga quarry. Both the drink and food were great and friendly service. A big thank you to the staff who returned my glasses to me the next day with some wonderful service and a great community. See you in a few weeks when the pizzeria and beer garden opens

What an amazing place to stay! Offgrid (almost!!) With beautiful scenery and wild surroundings. Walk till your heart's content. Great and picturesque beach with extensive bay rambles. Restaurant food first class and served by attentive and friendly staff. Comfortable and well appointed room. Fab!!

22 of us stayed here. Beautiful location & rustic building which is gorgeous inside. Meals were delicious & service was friendly. Not ideal to be in shared room with another couple, awkward! Very steep stairs to the mezzanine floor. Nice tracks around it to walk. Long walk from the beach to the lodge, especially after biking 74km!! Disappointed you couldn't hire paddle boards & take them out, you had to wait for the kayak guy to take you when he was free, a big loss of $$ to the lodge from us therefore. Stunning golden beaches to sunbathe on & swim from.

We had the best experience at Awaroa Lodge Their exceptional hospitality, comfortable rooms, amazing food, and safe and secure environment were fantastic. The location is just a short 3 - 4 minute walk from Awaroa Beach. We will most definitely be returning. It was just lovely

A magical place to visit. You arrive by sea (or helicopter) to be hidden away in the middle of the national park, surrounded by exotic vegetation and with your own golden sand beach. The fabric of the lodge is becoming a little tired but in every other respect this is a lovely place to stay. We were looked after mainly by a bright and very engaging young English woman called Anna but all the staff seemed tremendous.

We wanted a quiet and relaxing “gap” in our travel program and did we get that - YES! All from the boat voyage out to the Lodge through the return voyage we were meet with nice and personal service, charming living huts, fabulous food and wines - and - fantastic nature. We got two days and nights at this fabulous place which felt like much more - when we left we just said to ourselves - what an experience!
