Best Ayer Itam Hotels

"The hotel location is good; close to the famous temple Kek Lok Si and Penang Hill as well as many coffee shop, food market and small restaurants.. but the hotel looks worn out and only the very basic are provided. The hotel does not provide breakfast. Lobby area has an unpleasant smell (coming from the drainage just outside the hotel main entrance. Hope they could do something about it as it’s not appealing at all for the hotel. We stayed for 2 nights but no housekeeping was done. No hand towels, only 2 bath towels that looks very old though still clean. Staff at the reception counter were quite helpful. On the whole, for the price it’s still worthwhile."

"Top notch! Only for halal food, have to walk a little to the Malay village/nasi kandar shop. Near the mall there are not many options anymore. Only Muslim friendly ones. The others are the best! Close to Penang Hill"

"The landlord of Datang is Chinese and very nice. The hotel's swimming pool is very beautiful and the stay is very comfortable. It's just that the guests next door who checked in at midnight on weekends are very noisy. The location is far from the city and a bit inconvenient"

"Booked the room with balcony. But at night kind of can hear what’s going on outside. Cars passing and see on. So if u’re a light sleeper not recommended. Overall an okay stay. The uncles are helpful with parking and also helped us check the water heater as it wasn’t working"
