Casa Chukum

I always love staying at Casa Chukum. My favorite part of the experience is the friendly and personal connection that the staff and owners bring into every interaction. They truly care and want us to enjoy our time in Bacalar. The breakfast is delicious as well. They have tons of games and nice places to relax all around the property. Rooftop view of the lagoon is amazing, too!! Rooms are clean, quiet and relaxing.

Great place to stay. The staff are really friendly and make you feel at home. Good location to nearby bars and restaurants. Samantha at the reception was very helpful and gave good recommendations. (Best mattress I’ve ever slept on!) The boat tour through the hotel with Leo was an amazing experience, Highly recommend this tour if your looking for a fun adventure.

We had great stay. The hotel staff were extremly nice, helpful and made our stay in Bacalar exceptional. The room was big, spacious and with everything we needed (also mini fridge) + outside of our room was garden with pool and tables to sit in the morning while drinking coffee. In hotel are also few dogs and cats who were extremly nice and were adeed bonus to our stay. :) Thank you very much!

Upon arrival the establishment exudes color and happiness. Art is bountiful and eclectic and makes you feel you are a part of their home. My eyes kept catching pops of color, which led me to walk around the courtyard with their pool and colorful intriguing art that I was photographing. I had the opportunity to meet the owners and they couldn’t be any more kind. In fact not only did they offer to drive me back to my hotel, but one of them is Italian and invited me to a home cooked pizza at their hotel. My boat tour was beyond amazing. With so many choices of over 150 boat tour operators I couldn’t have chosen a better fit. If it’s a vibe you’re after they have it, if it is a knowledgeable guide and entertainer, they have it. They customized a trip for just me on a beautiful small hobie cat which was exactly what I wanted. I extended the tour, took my guide out to lunch and did more sailing. In case you don’t want to dine out, they provide wonderful snacks and drinks. Their soul mission is making sure the guest experience is top notch. Whatever you’re researching for, they can offer it. All you have to do is ask! My only complaint was the weather didn’t fully cooperate, but that just meant more meaningful and delightful conversation between me and my captain. I didn’t know much about Bacalar before coming and had I known. I probably would’ve stayed closer to town and after seeing this hotel, I would definitely book there for the next time as the vibe that they’ve created is inclusive and accessible to all. My captain, Leo was perfection all around. I didn’t feel like I was the solo traveler but rather have been friends for ages. This means everything. To converse and have joyful banter while seeing the 7 shades of blue hues that the lake offers. What took 6 hours seemed like 2. Every detail was taken into account. Leo knew it was also my birthday and brought me a little surprise to enhance my tour. When simple accommodations are met, attention to whom their clients are and are intent on making sure that this experience surpasses all and offer surprises, you don’t question whether or not this is the best outfitter, you book it. They have a multitude of different boats. A pimped out double decker pontoon, a large catamaran of 22 and 33 feet, as well as a small 17 foot catamaran. Don’t hesitate, just book it and know that it will be awesome!

We had a very good time in this nice hotel. Super friendly staff which is always ready to help. They organized us a nice sailing boat trip and recommended us good places to visit. Thanks as well for the nice picture you have printed at the end of our staying

Casa Chukum was a pleasant discovery. The property is welcoming, very clean, and decorated with design details. The staff is exceptionally helpful (Samantha was invaluable) and made us feel at home.
