The Thermalis - Das Boardinghouse im Kurpark Bad Hersfeld is located next to the spa gardens in Bad Hersfeld. It offers large rooms with free WiFi and daily breakfast buffet. All of the rooms at the 4-star Thermalis have a modern bathroom, satellite TV and a seating area. Hersfeld Abbey and the historic city centre can be reached in less than 10 minutes on foot. The Kurbad Therme has been closed since October 31, 2022 until further notice.

The hotel is situated a short walk from the centre of the city, taking only 10min at most to walk. Easy parking, clean rooms, air conditioning (the only hotel I’ve stayed in so far in this city with ac - an absolute must for the summer). Check in was a polite and friendly affair. Comfortable bed, small yet functional bathroom. Most importantly, clean! But this is where I feel for minimal extra cost, improvements could be made. There is only a paper cup for water in the room. No bottle of water (although snacks are available from reception). The water pressure was very low in the shower. Overkill on bio produce - for €10, the breakfast is adequate (no hot option, but that’s ok). Does everything need to be labelled as bio? The breakfast room was 25C and far too hot. I’ll stay here again when next on business (1 per month in Bad Hersfeld). But not until I need aircon. There are much better hotels for a similar price in the city.

Stayed 2 nights here on a business trip and was really pleased with the Vitalis. All the staff we met were very friendly and attentive. I had a room at the front (4) which had great views over the city. The Hotel was a 5-10 min ride from the Train Station and Town Centre The rooms were large and very clean and comfortable and well appointed, the bed was comfortable and there was Tea and Coffee making facilities which is rare in Germany. The bathroom and shower were also very large and immaculately clean. The breakfast was served from 7am with a selection of Breads Cheeses Cold Meats, Fruits and cereals. Eggs Sausages and Bacon also on offer in a lovely dining room There is a fridge you can access with Bottled Wines, Beers, Soft Drinks and Water at very reasonable prices. I will definitely book to stay there again. A really nice place to stay!
