Hotel Germania Gastein - Including Alpentherme Entrance

Very nice hotel in a very good location in the center of Bad Hofgastein. Very nice and competent receptionist with a nice piercing :) I can only recommend this hotel. The price also included a very good breakfast. The friendly staff makes the hotel pleasant.

The staff walk around in casual clothing, so you don't know if they are guests. The reception is not particularly professional (mostly sitting at the desk playing on their cell phones with their friends). You don't get the impression that they, including the wait staff, have learned their trade. The rooms are not cleaned very thoroughly, the marble floor and carpets are crying out for cleaning. The bathroom still has the ancient furniture holders, as well as a nurse call system. The hotel does not care for furniture, nor does it have a screwdriver. The room lighting is bad. The carpet on the balcony is broken. Beds are good. There is no bar or minibar. The food is monotonous and buffet-style. The coffee and pastries were super good. There are cameras everywhere, even outside, you feel like you're being watched. We had booked 4 nights, I broke my hand on the second day and wanted to shorten it to three nights because I couldn't go skiing or to the thermal baths. The hotel demanded 100% cancellation and wouldn't budge. The hotel manager, as he was called, refused to speak to us personally. We have never experienced such inhumanity and unfriendliness from guests.

We spent a weekend in Advent and New Year's Eve in this hotel and the breakfast and service were very good! The view at breakfast was also very nice. The free entry to the thermal baths and sauna was an absolute plus. The service and friendliness at reception was very good and uncomplicated! That's how we imagine it! A small, personal disadvantage for us is that all the rooms have carpets! We would still like to visit this hotel again!

The hotel is old, shabby, loud, dirty and uncomfortable, and not to be recommended in any way. The only good thing about the hotel are the staff at reception. That's why it gets 1 star. 4 star hotel???? They are from the 50s of the previous century. Now the hotel is apparently in Russian hands and that is why you should be careful!!!!!!
