This hotel is truly a hidden gem. The cabana was big and emaculately clean and comfortable. The restaurant has impeccable service and the food was excellent and very reasonably priced! I had the best casado for lunch and steak and shrimp for dinner. The grounds are beautiful and kept pristine. The hot springs are clean. If you're looking for a place to truly relax I recommend Hotel Colinas.

Stunning beautiful grounds with 8 crystal clear pools of varying temperatures. The helpful and highly attentive staff was exceptional. My wife was sick the night we arrived. The manager drove to the market because she wanted bananas and crackers. Everyone was so friendly. The one site restaurant was delicious.

This was a last-minute addition to our trip (we basically just needed an extra night up north) but it turned out to be one if its highlights! The place is beautiful, food is great, the thermal springs - .both public and the little private one we had at our cabin - were enjoyable, and the staff was super helpful and friendly. Even better, since we were visiting during the off season we had the whole place pretty much to ourselves (only one other cabin was occupied). I'm seriously considering coming back for a longer stay next time we are in Costa Rica!

Absolutely stunning grounds and super low key helpful people with great accommodations. Very fairly priced - and our bungalow included breakfast. We took leisurely strolls with binoculars on several of the trails on the property and saw many toucans, herons, motmots, magpie-jays, flycatchers, hummers, and iguanas. We did not sample the many beautiful spring pools (the air was warm when we visited), but they looked amazing. Super lovely family-run business - with grounds that would be a dream for birders of all ages.

Excellent! We loved our time here. Beautiful well kept hot springs, nice grounds, cool weather. The room was perfect as well. Clean, simple, lots of windows, nice ceiling fan. No ac needed. We saw nice wildlife as well. Keep your eyes in the trees for toucans and other birds. Lovely included breakfast. Host acomodated our vegan diet. Will deffinately be back, highly recomend. Pura vida

We received a warm welcome from Carlos upon our arrival & then taken to our lodge, no 4. There were 2 double beds & bunk beds. TV, & refrigerator and ceiling fan. The dining area catered for our inclusive breakfast, lunches & Dinner as-well as the bar. Service was quick & efficient and meals very tasty. All the staff spoke English although we did attempt as much as possible our Spanish😊 The hot springs were set in lovely well maintained gardens. We enjoyed our 5 night stay here & surrounding area.

We had planned on a trip to the Rio ***** Hot Springs in the Rincon National Park, as we had visited there some 10 years ago and had enjoyed the natural, secluded river side vibe they provided ( no one else was there the time we visited). But when we researched and found the current cost to be some $30 US pp, we decided to try our hot springs experience elsewhere. An internet search led us to Colinas de Miravalles. We didn’t stay overnight at this complex; we bought a day pass (5,000 colones /$9 US each) to enjoy the grounds and pools for the day, I guess partially because their is no “attraction” listing on Tripadvisor, people perhaps aren’t aware of the existence of this place, because there were only a handful of others there. They have an assortment of pools with warm and warmer water temperatures; spacious grounds ( with change facilities, picnic tables and a nice view of Miravalles Volcano) etc. There is a small restaurant ( where we has a tasty, reasonably priced lunch) and massage facilities that my wife took advantage of, and friendly staff. You also have the option of bringing food and beverages with you, picnic style. For the money, this was one of the best value Costa Rica experiences we had.

We spent 6 days at Colinas del Miravalles as part of a three-generation family vacation. The location is beautiful, with views of the Miravalles volcano and surrounding area. The cabins and pools are very well maintained. We rented cabins 1, 2, & 5. Cabins 1 & 5 each have a small thermal pool. There are also several larger thermal pools with volcano views across the driveway. Even though the larger pools are open to day visitors, they were never crowded. We enjoyed relaxing in the pools and eating in the open air restaurant (rancho). We all did an excursion to the Llanos de Cortez waterfalls, and some family members hiked on the Miravalles volcano and to the La Leona waterfall. The weather was very comfortable during our stay, and we even had one rainy day (which surprised us since it was late January). The family that runs the Colinas is wonderful—very helpful and accommodating! Muchas gracias a Carlos, Bélgica, Juan Carlos y todas las personas que trabajan en Las Colinas! If you travel without a car as we did, it’s good to know that the staff at Las Colinas can arrange for transportation by people working at the nearby Guayabo Animal Rescue organization, and that the money you pay goes to this organization. Muchas gracias a Didier y Luis!
