Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita

I cannot use enough superlatives to describe our stay at the Four Seasons Punta Mita. From start to finish our trip was nothing short of magical. When you pass through the gates, you are transported to a beautiful and carefree escape. We were met with welcome drinks and lovely scented cold towels upon arrival. The lobby had a beautiful panoramic view of the ocean and some comfy chairs. The check in process was seamless. While there was only a slight issue with our room, it was handled immediately and they gave us an upgrade for the confusion which I really appreciated. We were driven on a golf cart to our superb accommodations: an ocean front casita with a plunge pool. The view was absolutely breathtaking and I immediately knew we had made the right decision in choosing this hotel. Inside our room were some cookies and an adorable welcome gift for our toddler. This was our first international trip as a family of three and the bar has been set incredibly high. The staff even asked if we would like to have the plunge pool enclosed to make it safer for our toddler and they took care of it while we were out of our room. There is no shortage of family friendly activities on this resort. We enjoyed a bike ride, the lazy river and multiple days at the beach. When we were in our room, we enjoyed watching the whales from our patio. There is also snorkeling and a sea turtle release which we did not get to try due to lack of time. I cannot stress enough that every detail is thought of on the resort- coolers with cold water at each pair of lounge chairs, sunscreen and complimentary treats on the beach. They even had toys for our toddler to play with in the sand and kid sized floats so that she could enjoy the lazy river without having to hang onto us. There was a pleasant variety of dining options on the property. On our first day we enjoyed the breakfast buffet at Dos Catrinas which has many vegetarian options but there was an even greater variety for those who eat meat. For our dinners, we enjoyed the street tacos at Mez Bar and sushi at Aramara. We indulged in beachside dining for lunch where they offered many different cuisines which were all delicious. The remaining days we ordered room service that was perfectly laid out on our patio dining table. This was one of my favorite parts of our stay as it allowed us to soak in every moment of our trip and have a slow start to our day. They were very accommodating to our dietary restrictions, offering multiple vegan and vegetarian options as well as many kid friendly meals to choose from. We had a lovely rainfall shower and a bathtub. The Le Labo toiletries smelled incredible. I wish I could have brought them home with me. There was daily housekeeping and turn down service. They even left me a little lens cloth for my glasses with an image of the resort on one side. I thought that was an extra nice touch. Overall all the staff were friendly and very accommodating. We stayed in an oceanfront pool suite for 6 nights over Dia de Los Muertos. The room was spacious and had 2 bathrooms. The beach is lovely and swimmable most of the time. We had a wonderful couples massage. I had my hair done at the salon which didn’t go super well but the manager quickly took care of things. The food was delicious and the Dia de Los Muertos culinary event was amazing with a fabulous mariachi band. We had dinner at the Asian restaurant one night which was fine for sushi. Breakfasts were fantastic and they even made us breakfast boxes to go for golf which were delicious! The staff and management go above and beyond. The housekeepers were excellent and I loved how they hung up my bathing suits on hangers. We used Puerto Vallarta adventures which is on-site to go to Marietta’s Islands on a private trip and we loved that experience. You can book direct with them rather than going through the hotel. The adult pool was not our favorite. It is like a concrete jungle with no view of the ocean. The lazy river was fun for floating and the bartenders at the lazy river were excellent. The views from the main pool are beautiful Special call out to Octavia and Gilberto who made our stay extra special!

Punta Mita is an amazing destination! I always book with PM Villas to get the best concierge service. PM Villas is the best real estate agency locally. At the four seasons, they recommended going to the Dos Catrinas bar for a sunset drink and then dinner at Aramara. It was amazing

We stayed for four nights and appreciated the resort’s spacious grounds and variety of activities, which made the stay engaging. That said, certain aspects could be improved to meet the standards guests might expect from a luxury property. The facilities, while functional, show signs of age. In-room drinking water came from large dispensers rather than branded bottles, and replenishment could be timelier. The breakfast buffet offered a limited selection, and fruit service, though attentive, was sometimes slow, with occasional quality inconsistencies. Staff interactions varied — some were warm and proactive, while others appeared understandably tired. Overall, the experience felt more restrained than the generous, high-touch service often associated with high-end resorts. With a few updates and operational adjustments, the property could better reflect its luxury positioning.

Everything was excellent, especially the service. We had a wonderfully relaxing time and were looked after by very thoughtful staff. No complaints at all! We especially liked that there were multiple pools and beaches to choose from. It never felt crowded. As others have mentioned, the property is looking tired and this is the only area I’d say is not up to typical 4S standards. Rooms and restaurants could use a refresh and more nods to Mexican culture. Both felt outdated and a little corporate.
