The spacious, comfortable rooms with private balconies, friendly staff, and great location near natural attractions provide exceptional service. However, some may find the ceiling fans too noisy.

A joyous place to stay for so many reasons: a nature-filled location where the wildlife is at your feet: monkeys, stunning land and sea birds, the occasional frog, sloth, lizards/baselisks. Nearby is Corcovado National Park where you might get lucky and see a puma but at the very least coatimundis, white-lipped peccaries, an anteater, humming birds and many others; the snorkelling out at Caño island is spectacular (sharks, turtles, a host of colourful fish). But back to the hotel: the friendliest of hosts; good, generous food at all meals (you pre-order for the day); comfy if not glam rooms with fans (no A/C) and a dining area open to the beautiful views out to sea, edged by beautiful planting (the gardens and beautifully tended). Guests are invited to ‘hors d’oevres’ for drinks and a delish daily plate of nibbles where they exchange highlights of their day with each other, then dinner at communal tables makes for a convivial atmosphere and conversation with travellers from around the world (or you can dine at yr own table). Several birthdays were charmingly celebrated with staff and guests singing, plus cake. There’s free kayaking, sunset boating (where we encountered dolphins cavorting!) and a really chilled vibe overall. You’re not too far from the little village of Drake Bay, and there are beaches to walk to (along trails that can be a little demanding). Loved the vibe at this place, highly recommend

From the moment we were picked up from Sierpe by boat, to being dropped off again, it was a fantastic stay. The staff are brilliant, great guides, wonderful tasty food and a fantastic setting. Lots of wildlife around and close to the lodge. From an osprey fishing in front of the restaurant area each day to the noisy scarlet macaws flying over and perching in trees. Rooms were great and despite no air conditioning, were perfectly fine for sleeping with the noise of the jungle filtering through the trees. Our favourite place during our Costa Rica holiday and would not hesitate to go back. All wildlife photos taken close to the lodge.

I cannot recommend the Osa Peninsula of Costa Rica highly enough. It is adventurous and the experience is truly rewarding. We had the trip of a lifetime, thanks to Aguila de Osa. Nestled on a stunning bluff overlooking Drake Bay, the inn offers a serene escape where you'll be exceptionally well cared for. The staff is remarkable, and the culinary offerings are nothing short of extraordinary. If you crave natural adventure, this is the perfect spot. The inn itself is seamlessly integrated into the rainforest, and from the moment you're picked up from the beach for your brief ride to Aguila de Osa, you are enveloped in the beauty of nature. There is amazing wildlife and the adventures they provide are spectacular, with knowledgeable guides who are passionate about the land, enhancing your snorkeling experience at Cano Island and your hikes in Corcovado National Park. This destination promises unforgettable moments and a deep connection with the stunning environment.

We had such an amazing visit - this is a trip we will always remember. We left STL at 1pm Nov 29, and arrived at Aguila de Osa at 11:30am on Nov 30th, so it takes a bit of planning and effort to get there, but we loved every minute! I loved awakening to the sounds of the birds and monkeys. The food was delicious and creative. Jose led us on an interesting night hike. Tony and Gabriel showed us the wildlife of Corcovado NP, and Kikae(Sp?) showed us the snorkeling at Cano Island. We had time for wandering and relaxation in between. We met people from Costa Rica, Scotland, the UK, Canada - everyone appreciating the natural treasures of the Drake Bay area. Brad, the owner, has created a "win-win" business with great people in an unforgettable location. Highly recommend.

Great lodge. We thoroughly enjoyed staying here. Staff friendly, food great. Trips were really good but worth scheduling before you arrive. Need to be mobile as lots of steps to rooms and down to pontoon. Enjoyed the communal dining where you can chat to the other guests about the trips and their travel experiences Guests from every continent so great fun over meal times.

As an avid amateur wildlife photographer, I found this hotel to be ideal for wildlife photography, particularly birds. The hotel restaurant is quite beautiful, as are the rooms. The hotel is right next to an estuary to a small river, so herons and other similar birds, or even a crocodile across the small river at low tide can be seen. A trail in 1 direction will take you toward town. I saw Scarlet Macaws, parrots and other birds while walking that way. Walking in the other direction will take you to beaches but there's elevation changes and walking through rainforest to get to them, but the beach that I got to was very scenic. The staff at the hotel is very friendly and very accommodating. I'm gluten intolerant and they made me special gluten free snacks and they were delicious, and they also had gluten free bread to go along with excellent meals. Also, other than the Corcovado National Park tour, I was also able to do a sunset boat ride, a night tour and a birding tour.

Accessed the hotel by boat which was a lovely experience- it’s quite steep to get to some of the rooms so remember to take everything you need ! Food is good although the evening meal Is served at 7pm we did not mind and it was all sat at 2 long tables which I was not sure about but we enjoyed talking to all different people and mixing We did the night tour around the hotel which was good even in the rain ! Did Caño island and snorkelling from the hotel Gardens are beautiful view is lovely chairs outside your room - very enjoyable either way helpful staff

Aguila de Osa was amazing, so much wildlife at your doorstep, beautiful gardens, lovely food and helpful friendly staff who couldn't do enough for you. We particularly appreciated the pre excursion briefing the evening before, ensuring you knew what to expect and what to take. The guides were fantastic and we saw so much. Thank you to everyone who helped makes this a truly memorable part of our holiday in Costa Rica.
