Magical place in the middle of nature! We stayed at the two-story bamboo pod which is a tree house looking out at the jungle. It’s magical waking up with the sounds of nature around you. The staff is super friendly and there’s a restaurant with delicious food. The natural pool isn’t just unique but stunning, such a special experience swimming among hundreds of fish. It’s located in a beautiful area too with ricefields. Recommend!🫶

What a little fairytale! Tucked away in one of the most beautiful and green areas of Bali, this place is an absolute gem. We stayed in the Bamboo Pod, which offered a front-row seat to breathtaking jungle views. The facilities were amazing, and the ambiance felt so magical. But what really stood out was the staff—they were incredibly welcoming and friendly, making us feel right at home.

We did not stay here, but the food and the service was so good that we ended up eating here more often than at our own nearby resort. The food was excellent and there were plenty of options for vegetarians / vegans as well since one of the chefs is a vegetarian themself. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing. There was a natural pool where you could swim with the fish! Even though we weren't full-time customers at the resort and only used the restaurant's services, we were given the access to the pool area and we were treated very well. So even if you are not staying here, consider travelling here for the delicious menu! Ps. The owners have cute dogs.

My stay at Sebatu Sanctuary was exceptional. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with great hospitality. The location of the Bamboo Pod is simply breathtaking. Nestled in a natural setting of unparalleled beauty, with a panoramic view of the terraced rice fields and an atmosphere of absolute tranquility. The Bamboo Pod itself was incredibly comfortable, providing a cozy retreat. The natural pool with its hundreds of fish was truly surprising. It offered a unique and refreshing experience, surrounded by the soothing sounds of nature. Finally, the cuisine offered at the establishment's restaurant is simply exquisite. The Granola Bowl at breakfast was so delicious.

It's hard to write something that captures how amazing this place it, Sebatu is really very special and unique, absolutely wonderful. We were a family group of 3 boys, parents and granny and stayed in 2 bamboo pods. Luxurious, spacious rooms in the heart of nature, the wonderful pool with little fish swimming with you, this is a really special place to stay. The owners have created a luxurious place which is incredibly relaxing; really excellent food in the restaurant with a beautiful menu to choose from to suit differing tastes, the breakfast is stunning and so beautifully presented, and every detail of the styling and design is beautiful and carefully considered. Beds and pillows were so comfy, air conditioning upstairs in the lumbung was really effective but we had the lovely option of the downstairs level to be closer to nature and fresh air. The architecture of the incredible bamboo pods is breathtaking, it is so inspiring to see, and such clever design. It was easy to arrange a driver to and from Ubud making everything so easy, and they helped arrange transfers to and from further destinations, which was great value and the drivers were all lovely. We were very sad to leave. We did a day trip in one of the beautiful VW combos in pouring rain which was so memorable and huge fun. I strongly recommend staying at Sebatu, it's so close to Ubud and we felt welcomed, cared for, relaxed and really lucky to have discovered this place. I'd love to go back. The owners Alex and Eva have created something really special and you can feel the care and thought that has gone into every little touch; the whole place has a blend of high end luxury within the truly beautiful Balinese culture and setting, in the absolutely heart of nature which we just loved. A really wonderful place.

This is our third time visiting Ubud, but our first time with children (2 years old). The Sebatu Sanctuary Eco-Resort was an excellent choice and a great value for our family. We booked the entire Dutch Colonial Villa, which consisted of two suites (a top-floor suite and a bottom-floor suite), for five nights. They were able to provide cribs for our children. Yuni and other resort staff were so amazing with our children. They'd often wish the children away (with permission) to take them on tours of the resort, to feed fish, pick fruit, etc.. It was really amazing to see the level of service the Eco-Resort provided, from the front desk staff to housekeeping. We would bump into Alex, the owner, from time to time, and he would take time to ask how we were enjoying our stay and if there was anything they could do to make our stay more enjoyable. He also gave a fantastic tour of the property. It was great to hear about the design of the resort and about the community. Each of the suites had a well-stocked (free) minibar. There was also tea and two types of coffee (my only complaint is the lack of a label, so we knew which was Bali coffee and which was for the French press). Breakfast each morning was excellent. The massages we booked were on par with what you'd expect from the top-level resorts in the area, but not at inflated resort prices. The hotel was also able to help us book a photographer to capture our time in the area. The rooms were very comfortable. The lower-level suite did suffer from high humidity, but the resort was aware of this and had already installed a dehumidifier, which resolved the issue. There were no major issues with bugs or geckos in the room, which is a typical complaint for rooms next to rice fields in Bali. The views from both suites of the rice fields were spectacular. It was great to see that the resort provided a very well-rounded, polished experience. They would even set up a screen to show you a movie on their lawn in the evenings. The pool was fantastic. It was almost like snorkeling, as there were so many fish. The only slight downside was that our swimsuits had a strong odor as there is no chlorine, so I'd recommend rinsing after you swim. It was also nice that we could have lunch and dinner at the resort. All meals were of high quality and at reasonable prices, though portion sizes were modest. Guests from other resorts were stopping by for meals, which speaks to the quality of the food provided. Overall, we would highly recommend the Sebatu Sanctuary Eco-Resort.

This I can easily rate as one of my best stay in lifetime...We stayed in hobbit tree house as well as bamboo pod for 1 night each. There are some cons in bamboo pods but incomparison to pros I am neglecting those. The service and the people involved in activities are top of this world . They will go a step further to maximize the experience and to make guest comfortable. We being vegetarian they served and accommodated our needs very well. The romantic picnic with there guide was best activity I ever had in life. Thank you thank you thank you

Another fantastic visit to Sebatu Sanctuary! Evi and her team consistently make it feel like a true home away from home. The resort's natural pool is outstanding, offering endless fun for the kids with its fish-filled waters. The restaurant is excellent too, with a menu that hits all the culinary spots, satisfying a range of tastes and preferences. It's an idyllic blend of luxury, nature, and top-notch service, making it a must-visit destination for a serene retreat in the heart of Bali's uplands.

Beautiful jungle resort with the most amazing staff! We stayed 4 nights at the end of our trip to Bali and loved the setting in up the hills in the middle of the jungle as well as the very friendly and attentive staff, who did everything to make our stay pleasant. The restaurant is outstanding and offered by far the most delicious food we had during our stay in Bali. Try the tangerine salad and the Scrambled Egg Prata Wrap for breakfast! Make sure you know that due to the location of the resort you share the grounds with a big variety of animals and insects and you might meet some frogs, lizards and ants in your open bathroom ;). Although the hotel does't have its own spa, local therapists come there on demand. Definitely treat yourself with a massage (I can recommend the hot stone massage), which can be booked at the reception. Special thanks go to Wayan who was very helpful and considerate and made sure everything was perfect all the time.
