**An Unforgettable Wedding Experience** We recently celebrated our summer 2024 wedding in Markree Castle Sligo and we cannot recommend it highly enough. From start to finish, every aspect of the day exceeded our expectations. It was everything and more. The wedding coordinators Deirdre in the wedding preparation and Nicholas on the day were simply exceptional—always attentive, organized, and on top of every detail. They went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly, making us feel completely at ease in the lead-up to and on the big day. The staff and service throughout the castle were equally impressive. Every single person we encountered were professional, friendly, and genuinely invested in making our day special. It was clear they cared about us and our guests' experience. The food was another highlight. Our guests complimented the high standard of food which was delicious, beautifully presented, and catered perfectly to the dietary needs of our guests. The drinks reception and canapés were generous and plentiful which was important to us. We made one or two menu changes in the planning which Deirdre kindly supported us with. The rooms were fantastic—spacious, comfortable, and spotless. The castle speaks for itself which meant the dining room required very little added decor as it’s unique features are beautifully designed. For those who stayed overnight, the accommodation added an extra layer of luxury to the celebration as each bedroom in Markree Castle has its own individual style and special castle features. Finally, all communication both in person and via email in the run-up to the wedding was outstanding. Every query we had answered promptly, practical advice for our queries, making the planning process as stress-free as possible and enjoyable. If you’re looking for a venue that delivers on every level Markree Castle is the perfect choice. Thank you to everyone who made our day so special—it was truly unforgettable.

We celebrated our daughter’s wedding and from start to finish it was amazing in this magical Castle. Our guests are still taking about it as being the best wedding they’ve ever had. The food attention to every detail that we had asked for was delivered. Many thanks to Nicholas and his team.

We have stayed in Markree a few times now and ultimately decided to have our wedding here (which speaks volumes for how great the venue and staff are). The following review is based on our wedding day and stay but each and every time we have stayed has been a 5 star experience. We had an absolutely amazing time at Markree Castle and honestly couldn't have asked for a better experience. When we first saw the place we were absolutely blown away by the entire setting. The castle, the grounds, the rooms, everything is absolutely stunning. From the moment we enquired about the wedding nothing was too much trouble. All our questions got answered in detail and in a timely manor. On the day of the wedding there was no stress and no hassle whatsoever. The amazing team at Markree were so helpful and pleasant. They were able to coordinate and sort out the arrangements with all the different people coming and going such as the reception music, the band, the cake, etc, I had thought these were all going to be questions and things we had to organise on the morning but the team at Markree handled everything perfectly and we didnt have to think about a thing. We even had a few special requests which were accommodated for without any issue at all. There literally wasnt a single thing that didnt go to plan on the day. You have the entire castle to yourselves and everything just feels so homely, you are free to walk around and explore at your leisure, and there is plenty to explore both inside and out. Both ourselves and the guests commented on how perfect the day was. I know I have already mentioned how great the staff are but I feel each and everyone of them made our day the success it was. Every single member of the team is friendly, talkative and cheerful. There wasnt a single member of staff that let the team down. Even when we were at breakfast the next morning the atmosphere was the same, and I really think this contributes a great deal to the day so thank you once again to all the staff. Of course I need to mention a special thank you to both Deidre and Nicholas who we had spoke to on multiple occasions leading up to the wedding, but on the day it was Alex who was looking after us and we honestly cant thank her enough. She was responsible for how things ran and everything ran perfect. Alex constantly checked up that we had everything we needed and always kept us right throughout the day, we honestly couldn't have asked for anyone better. Later that evening another woman took over from Alex and I'm afraid to say I forget her name but she was fantastic as well. The food was absolutely brilliant as well. Everyone was stuffed at the end and everyone had commented on how great everything looked and tasted! I could literally talk about our wedding day for ages (and both ourselves and our guests have been!), but I'm sure you get the picture. It was a fantastic day, in a stunning setting, with excellent staff, what more do you want? The

Was here for a wedding in December. Is an unbelievable setting for a wedding. The staff were friendly, helpful throughout our stay. Excellent facilities on site. Would 100% recommend if planning on doing a wedding on the West coast of Ireland.
