Hotel Alt-Ringlein

Loving welcome, everything a bit old-fashioned, but definitely clean, fantastically located in the middle of the old town. The garage is a real feature and is worth it for drivers, unless the car is higher than 1.80, there are also public garages within walking distance. The beds allow even non-beer-loving guests to sleep wonderfully, surprisingly quietly, at some point those partying in the streets have to go to the restaurants - incredibly lively, it's a pleasure to be able to visit a city like this. There is an elevator, our bathroom was not barrier-free, I could imagine that a solution is possible if you ask. Breakfast is very good under Corona conditions, the rules are meticulously followed and incredibly friendly. A real highlight after the experiences in the associated economy, like the good and the bad sister from the fairy tale.

The hotel is located opposite the famous “Schlenkerla” restaurant, in the middle of the old town and directly below Bamberg Cathedral. The location is great if you don't want to travel by car. It takes around 25 minutes to walk from the train station. The cathedral is up a flight of stairs behind the hotel and it is just a few steps to the old town hall. There is a restaurant downstairs in the hotel, other restaurants and lots of cafes and shops right outside the door. Guests at the Schlenkerla can make it louder from the street in the evening. However, the restaurant closes at 11:30 p.m. You should also know that the Hotel Alt-Ringlein is closed from 12 to 3 p.m. and check-in is not possible (you will be informed after booking). Room was large, bathroom with opening window, shower, heating, hairdryer. Carpeted room. WiFi works great (free). A bottle of mineral water free of charge. Breakfast (7 a.m. to 10 a.m.) offers everything you need. Nothing outstanding, but absolutely ok with various bread/rolls, cold cuts, cheese, boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, yogurt, fruit, juices. Not so great: The breakfast room is uncomfortable. You can only find the socket by the bed if you pull the bedside table from the wall.

Es ist uns verboten worden, im zum Hotel gehörigen Restaurant, bei einem Glas Wein, Karten zu Spielen. Singen wäre vom Chef auch verboten. Mein Kommentar an der Rezeption, das mir das weltweit noch nicht passiert sei. Das machte den Gesamteindruck vom Zimmer leider kaputt.
