An atmospheric old coaching inn, situated on the Green of the beautiful Cotswold village of Adderbury. We were given a warm welcome by the manager and his very helpful staff. Our room overlooked the Green and was extremely clean and comfortable. We had an excellent choice of breakfasts, cooked to perfection. We ate there each night during our stay….an extensive menu, also well prepared and served by excellent waiting staff. We will absolutely be staying there again.

We visited the red lion as a stop off for lunch on the way to Oxford. It is everything you would expect from a country village pub. The welcome was inviting and the food was amazing, would definitely recommend the Sunday lunch and the apple crumble. Great visit and very attentive staff

We stayed here on a Saturday night following a wedding nearby. They were very accommodating letting us check in to the room early which was great. The room was clean and comfortable with a little noise but that's to be expected with an old building. The breakfast was cooked to order and good. The cost was £132 including breakfast which was optional (it was £108 room only).

What a perfect location to explore the English countryside! The room was comfortable and quaint, the food was SO good, and the staff, oh so friendly, professional, and very helpful. Kirstie (sp) and her crew were incredibly nice. We could not have asked for a better experience! Thank you all for making our first visit a very memorable one.

We stopped for lunch today at The Red Lion - the poor weather and miserable day was instantly lifted by the warm welcome from the young lady behind the bar who quickly directed us to a table close to a roaring fire. An impromptu stop after a late breakfast we didn’t want a huge meal so the selection of menus was perfect, as well as daily specials and full menu there was a fantastic value for money two or three course light menu which we all selected from - the food was fantastic quality delivered promptly, three people with drinks two courses and coffee for less than £50! Can’t recommend highly enough.

We stayed here for just under 2 weeks visiting the area for a family funeral. Dan, Katie and the team were fantastic and brought a smile to our faces each day. The rooms, breakfast and customer service were all 5/5. We changed rooms half way through our stay for disability access and our bags were moved for us which was very helpful. Comfortable clean rooms which aided in a good night sleep after a busy day. A beautiful breakfast with a fresh selection of pastries and fruit each morning. Free on-site parking which does get busy. Would not hesitate to recommend The Red Lion Adderbury to friends and family. We will definitely be back. Thanks guys.

We rang up a few days before hoping the red lion could fit us in as we were a table of 12, luckily they could. Our table was lovely, all food we pre ordered was correct, delicious and piping hot! It was also ready so quickly as we arrived early and they only had one chef, so he did brilliantly!! Everyone loved the pub and we were so happy as it was a lovely family meet up. Couldn't have wished for anything else! Thank you to all the staff

We had such an enjoyable lunch on Christmas Eve. The food was exquisite, I had the haddock fish cakes which were delicious and my mum had fish and chips. the staff are always so friendly and helpful and we had our regular table which is perfect. This has become our favourite restaurant because it ticks all of the boxes on value, service and quality of food. We love going there and it never fails to disappoint. Thanks so much to all of the team there, you’re all fab. Kristy x

Stayed for one night and myself and family member found everything to be great (just the beds were too hard). We had a very warm welcome from Daniel, our suitcases were taken upstairs for us by one of the staff. The room was lovely, very clean and it was nice and quiet. The stairs are not really suitable for people who may have a greater degree of mobility issues, but its a very old building. We had our evening meal and the food was lovely. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The building is in a lovely village, locals were very friendly. We went for a walk around Adderbury Lakes which is to the left as you walk out of the front. Daniel kindly gave us directions. The breakfast choice was very good and staff brought our suitcases down for us. Overall, a very enjoyable stay at the Red Lion. Highly recommend it.
