We were impressed by the elegance and thoughtful design of Samary Spa. Every detail—from the architecture to the decor—feels intentional and harmonious, creating a truly serene atmosphere. The food was outstanding and absolutely worth a visit on its own. Even if you’re not staying at the hotel, try to carve out time for a special dinner or even just a drink at the restaurant. It’s a step above what you’d typically find in downtown Baños, perfect if you’re looking for a more refined experience or even just a guaranteed delicious food and safe place. We were initially unsure if it would be a good fit for our kids (ages 5 and 7), but they ended up having a fantastic time. There’s a lovely play area for children, and they especially enjoyed the pool at the spa. To our surprise, they even offer massages for kids! There were also other family with kids (different ages) staying at the property. What really sets this place apart is the warm, genuine hospitality. There’s a strong sense of tradition woven into every part of the experience, and the staff made us feel incredibly welcome. It’s a peaceful, safe retreat just minutes from everything. You can’t go wrong with it.

This is one of the most beautiful properties I've ever stayed at. When booking, we were considering both Samari and the Luna Volcan. Both are considered top hotels in Banos. In the end we went with Samari and it is a choice that I don't regret. Every feature and design details of the resort were very thoughtful and luxurious. The extensive grounds were well maintained. The pool and spa was the absolute highlight. It was just breathtaking how beautiful it was! Our room was very clean and comfortable. We dined at the hotel both nights that we were there and we had great meals. The view from the restaurant was phenomenal. The staff was fantastic and attentive. Special thank you to Sabastien at the front desk and Dora at the spa. I highly recommend Samari resort and look forward to coming back!

A perfect and peaceful getaway in Banos. The staff were very friendly and always went out of their way to help. The grounds and bedrooms were beautiful, the food was delicious, and the massage was excellent value. I couldn’t recommend it more.

We love this place. Everyone is very friendly and polite; the food is delicious (especially breakfast) and the facilities are very nice and cozy; the pool is warm and the massage “Renovation of Rosemary” was just perfect. We went as a family and enjoyed it a lot. Perfect place for a enjoyable vacations.

Can’t say enough positive about Samari. Simply superb place and a great HQ for Banos activities. Service superb, room fantastic and the pool / spa a real reward. Worth every dollar spent on our stay in this refurbed monastery and extensive grounds.

The place is beautiful, but the service was terrible. At reception, no one greeted me or gave directions to the spa. At the spa, no one welcomed me, and the lockers were broken. I left my valuables with the staff, but later found them left unsecured on a table. When I asked for them back, they said, "We don’t know whose they are. Just take them if they’re yours." To make matters worse, the restaurant had flies that constantly bothered us while eating. The lack of professionalism and cleanliness made the experience very disappointing. I would not recommend this place.
