Cheap and cheerful hotel, rooms badly need refurbishment, some staff excellent (bar staff) some very rude (reception) One reception staff member was very rude and completely unhelpful. Cleaning staff very nice, always brightened up our day.

First time staying here and would happily return. We stayed in a studio which was spacious, with a fridge/mini bar, kettle, tea and coffee, bathrobes and slippers. The bed was a huge double and very comfy. Bathroom was dated and we had a problem with our shower which was quickly rectified after a visit to reception but there is plenty of hot water and the pressure is good. Breakfast and dinner is good with plenty of selection to keep you happy for a week, however they don't allow open back shoes (ie crocs, flip flops) in the restaurant, saw lots of people being turned away because of this. Bar area is beautiful with a huge open fire, nice to chill by in the evenings and Toto the barman is a credit to the hotel. Friendly and excellent service. The spa area is a lovely addition but obviously gets super busy late afternoon/evenings. Swimming pool, steam room, 2 saunas, a jacuzzi, roman bath and a cold plunge pool which feels incredible on tired legs after a day on the slopes. We took an afternoon off mid week and went in about 2pm, we had the place to ourselves which was lovely! If you fancy a change from the hotel food, pop up the road towards the gondola to the Alpen Italian restaurant. Amazing food and service! Not to be missed. Overall we loved our stay here and would definitely return!

We have been to the Guinness a few times and every time has been wonderful super clean with a very spacious one bed apartment at the front of the hotel with great views of the mountains. It is very close to the ski lift they also provide a shuttle us. There is a great guy who does ski rental under the hotel who is so helpful and reasonable priced. A special shout out to Toto at the bar who is so pleasant and helpful a great asset to the hotel. The rooms are really cosy and have tea and coffee making facilities and the house keeping staff are lovely especially Xaupue. Great Spa centre also

Great hotel location only 5 minutes away from the slopes. The rooms have old appliances, however everything was functional and clean. The room very spacious. The pillow were too soft, but the matresses were very confortable. Breakfast was varied and fresh. Posibility of dinner both buffet and a la carte. SPA area was big enough and clean. At noon time was less crowded. The fireplace in the reception looked great, however its smell was somehow irritating.

First, the good - this hotel is in an excellent location within ten minutes walk of the main gondola. It's well placed for night time and the rooms are spacious, with adequate storage. The TV had several English channels; the lighting was mixed so you could have full light or dimmed. There was only a shower but, rather annoyingly, never a spare toilet roll left, so if you ran out, you ran out! The upper area bar man was excellent in both service and manner, as was our room maid - we made a point to reward both as their attitude really did make a difference. Ski and boot storage was downstairs via the back stairs but, rather disturbingly, this area was unmanned / unlocked and immediately accessible to the street via the back doors. Hence I carried my gear back to my room each evening. Didn't use the ski shuttle as it was close enough to walk, even in ski boots. Now, the rest - it is severely lacking in maintenance and several areas are in need of attention, none more than the pool / 'spa' (used lightly) area where broken tiles and out of order machines are the theme of the day. I really would have appreciated coming off the mountain and enjoying a relaxing swim and perhaps reading, by the pool. The pool is cold and only suitable for laps, not leisure swimming and the sunbeds are pointless as the pool area is freezing and the 'lifeguard' who, when not snoring, is browsing his phone, is equally pointless. The sauna and steam room attached to the pool area are out of order; the hot tub is empty and the therapy pool luke warm with broken tiles and very sharp edges. There are, however, two reclining, tiled and heated loungers which are amazing if you can grab one (difficult in a hotel of this size). We each had a treatment but the 45 massage and the massage itself was good, but lasted just 31 minutes - we tried to contest and were just shown the time as it was - difficult to argue that you'd been sat waiting and they'd kept you waiting at the start. The rooms, as mentioned, were spacious. Bed was sufficient for the week, quite worn and soft but without any springs sticking out. However the furniture was generally quite tired and my coffee table had a rough edge along one side, as if previously fit to a wall, which I scraped my leg on. The advertised kitchenette was there, but with a lack of any pans, crockery or cutlery, impossible to use and therefore pointless. The food - in fairness, we only ate in the restaurant twice, possibly only returning a second time to see if the previous nights meal was a one-off. It wasn't. The food was repetitive and tepid. Breakfast was acceptable and there was an assortment of fruit and cheeses, but the restaurant didn't open until 7:30 am which was too late to eat, change and get to the gondola for the earliest lifts. Our room was along the front street and it was noisy during the evenings / early hours. Added to that, all the rooms open onto a central atrium and so the noise also magnifies from there. A peac

Stayed here on a family trip. Hotel is fine but I wouldn’t class it as a 4star. Plugs in room were hanging off. Food was good and had decent choices. Very close to gondola for walking. The reason for 3star is one of the nights I decided to join my family in spa area, when I got there I observed the lifeguard hiding his phone behind his leg and was taking pictures of 2 teenager girls in their swimsuits. I told the girls and left the area and also reported it at the front desk, I seen him being called to front desk as I left but when I returned the next day he was still there, if you are using the pool you need to be extra vigilant of this man as I’m sure there was plenty other pictures on his phone

Hotel was very nice, rooms very spacious, the staff are very helpful. The maids came daily, hotel was very clean. The barman Toto was great barman and catered to our needs. Great location as not far from the main town and Gondola. The spa facilities were great to unwind in after a day on the slopes

This hotel is underrated. It is a five minute walk from the slopes and supermarket. The staff are very friendly. It is very clean, the house keeping is tip top. The rooms are larger than I expected. It is very family friendly. You can hire ski stuff at the hotel. The Buffett food is abundant, great variety and the dinning facilities are very homely. The large lobby with real fire is perfect to relax in after a busy day on skiing. Nice music and lots of sofas. The spa is also excellent. Pool, multiple saunas, steam room, warm pool, heated relaxing seats and cold dipping pool. Bansko town centre is a ten minute walk, its busy, plenty of pubs and eateries, its a good atmosphere on a night. This hotel literally has everything you need for a very good price. It is the best family room we have ever had, space wise and a lovely view of the mountains. Bonnie
