Stopped for an overnight en route south from Calais and lunch in Bethune..just an hour and a half drive (only 2k off the A26). What a find and what a welcome!...steeped in history, which Carole curates magnificently, she also supports visitors from around the world exploring their family war stories in the locale. Rooms are charming, spacious and extremely comfortable..what a joy to sit watching the swallows/house martins from the extensive balcony as the sun went down. Breakfast is generous with luxury of homemade produce and in the evening, fridge, microwave and local beers (honesty tariff) etc. are at your disposal...it is so charming we aim to make the trip again to explore for a few days this area of France that we normally just drive through.

We initially selected this location because they have secure parking for a Glider trailer. So we stayed here on the way to Germany with the Glider trailer. The stay was so good that we booked again for the return trip. The room was spacious, warm and well presented. There was an enormous shower room. The small kitchen was also good for making a cup of tea in the morning. Carole, the host was delightful and served a superb breakfast using local produce. I really recommend this location. There are restaurants, not too far away, which is also a bonus.

We stayed for 3 nights .Breakfast was very good with homemade Jams and yoghurt and we choose what time to have our breakfast.Close to all the places we wanted to visit and is a very peaceful and lovely place to come back to after a busy day. Table to sit out in the evenings if you wish too.Carole is a very friendly and helpful host and will tell you about the local history of places to visit and the history of the family house which is lovely. Carole also booked a table in a nearby restuarnt for our wedding anniversary. The bedrooms are very spacious and clean and the bed was very comfortable. A selection of drinks to purchase in a fridge in the hallway and a table football also in the hall and a trampoline in the garden. Juke the family dog is very friendly. We had a good stay with my sister who has stayed here on various holidays.

We will stay at this lovely place again! We picked this place to stay one night on our drive from England to Italy because it seemed convenient and nice, but it has surpassed all our expectations. The place is beautiful and the rooms are charming (we stayed in the Mozart room - he once stayed here during his travels). While remote there is lots to see in the area especially if you are interested in World War I. Carole is an amazing host. She is very friendly, speaks English really well, and was explaining everything about the farm, the rooms and the history. She made sure we had two cots for our baby twins and the room has an adjoining smaller bedroom for children meaning you could sleep half a dozen people in there for an amazing price. We slept really well and even the babies had a decent night (they have proper blackout shutters). She prepared a tasty dinner for us: Croque Monsieur with homemade bread, a soup of courgette cream with the courgettes from her garden and dessert was chocolate cream with cream from the neighbours farm. Breakfast was similarly thoughtful with currants and fig jam from her garden, strawberry jam from the neighbours and homemade yoghurt. I understand why she has regulars that stay here everytime they pass through the area and I think we will become part of the group.

We couldn’t have asked for a warmer welcome on our journey from Carole. The room was spacious and comfortable; and the homemade and local produce at breakfast was delicious. The history of the farm is fascinating - incredible to see how nearby one of the trenches ran during World War One. We hope we will be able to return one day to spend a bit longer in the area.

On recommande vivement cet endroit. Et y retournerons sans problème.
