"The butler service was incredibly warm and attentive. They contacted me a day before my arrival to ask about my train schedule and offered a complimentary pickup service. Upon arrival, my room was upgraded, and they provided information on various services, like ensuring I had enough bottled water, complimentary red bean dessert, swimming pool guidelines, and offering daily room cleaning. The hotel facilities were also excellent; the swimming pool had great water quality and was kept at a comfortable 28℃. Plus, the package price was very reasonable."

"My choice was absolutely spot-on; out of several hotels, I picked Ibis. The staff at the front desk were incredibly warm and welcoming. When we mentioned wanting to explore a nearby market but didn't know the way, they actually invited us to join them and led us there. It was such a thoughtful gesture, making us feel completely at home, without any of the usual strangeness of being in a foreign place. The cleanliness was outstanding – both the common areas and our room were impeccable. The service was always prompt and helpful, attending to our every need. "The room was pretty good; the amenities and facilities were more comprehensive than many high-end hotels. The cleanliness was decent, certainly much better than many budget hotels, and I still support the Hyatt brand. The operator even upgraded our room type, which I really appreciate. However, when checking in, the front desk didn't communicate much with us, including the basic check-in process, which made us feel a bit awkward. But we arrived quite early, so I understand, and I'm still very grateful."

"Plans change unexpectedly. My trip to Jieyang was switched to Shantou, and I booked the Shantou Imperial Hotel on Trip.com just half a day in advance. This isn't my first time staying here; it's a well-established five-star hotel, close to the high-speed rail station and not too far from popular food spots. After booking, I quickly contacted Linna, the butler I'd added on WeChat previously, to arrange a pickup from the high-speed rail. She responded promptly, asking for my train number, arrival time, and the number of people (very reliable!). She told me to just keep an eye out for her call upon arrival. To my surprise and delight, she also arranged a free room upgrade. Plans truly do change. While waiting at Puning high-speed rail station, I was informed that my train would be delayed by about 40 minutes. I contacted Linna immediately to avoid having the hotel car wait unnecessarily, but she informed me that the hotel's pick-up vehicle had already departed. She instructed me to look for a staff member in a red uniform upon arrival. I actually felt a bit bad about the delay. Once the train arrived at Shantou Station, as I exited the gate, I saw a sharp-looking young man in a red uniform standing at the exit, looking directly at our train's exit. We made eye contact instantly. He politely asked for my surname and confirmed some basic check-in information, then enthusiastically helped us with our luggage and guided us to the parking lot to get in the car (it felt quite fancy having a dedicated escort! 😜). During this time, he even called the driver to move to a more convenient pick-up spot to minimize our walking distance. After a few twists and turns, we finally arrived at the hotel. We quickly checked in, dropped off our luggage in the room, and began our culinary adventure. Given that it's an older five-star hotel, I must admit the facilities are a bit dated. The room also had some older fixtures and a faint smell of smoke. While the air conditioning seemed to help, an air purifier would have been even more effective in improving the room's scent. On a positive note, the water pressure in the room was excellent, making for a very comfortable and refreshing shower. The next day, when I contacted Linna to arrange a ride to the high-speed rail station, she was very proactive in communicating and coordinating with hotel management, even though our departure time was quite early (outside the hotel's normal shuttle hours). In the end, she ensured we arrived at the high-speed rail station safely and on time. To sum it up, while the hotel's hardware might not be the absolute best, the attentive and thoughtful service from the staff truly surprised and impressed me. This kind of warm service makes every guest feel genuinely cared for. For future stays in Shantou, I'll most likely choose the Imperial Hotel again. Such excellent service undoubtedly makes every guest feel comfortable and at ease."

"【Hampton by Hilton Shantou】An unexpectedly delightful stay, definitely five stars! Choosing Hampton by Hilton for my trip to Shantou made it incredibly comfortable. The hotel's location is excellent, with convenient transport links and plenty of amenities nearby. The front desk staff were friendly and professional, proactively helping with travel inquiries and making the check-in process efficient and smooth. The room was spacious and bright, with a modern and cozy design. The bedding and cleanliness met Hilton's usual high standards, especially the pillows – they were so comfortable I wanted to take them home! Breakfast offered a wide variety of choices, and the taste was great, perfect for starting a vibrant day. Overall, my experience was: meticulous service, well-maintained facilities, and accommodation that was excellent value for money. "The environment and hygiene are excellent; it's very new and smart. The only drawback is that it's a bit far from Longyannan Road, about 7-8 kilometers, but it's not far from Xiaogongyuan and a decent distance from Nanao Island. Nanao Island is truly huge, and driving around it takes at least half a day. Going there and back on the same day is a bit tiring. The breakfast is also quite good. I'd just suggest the hotel switch to lower pillows, as both of them are a bit too high."

"Our experience at the DIOTEL Chaoshan Hotel in Shantou was absolutely fantastic! The front desk service was excellent, and our room was clean and tidy with a great wet/dry separation in the bathroom. The nightly DIY 'Red Peach Kuih' activity was so much fun, my girlfriend was engaged the whole time. The Teochew opera performance on Saturday night offered an immersive experience of this intangible cultural heritage. The overall bamboo-themed design is elegant, and the spiral staircase is perfect for taking photos. I highly recommend the hotel's BBQ dinner; the ingredients were fresh, the flavors authentic, and it had a wonderful lively atmosphere. It's a one-stop shop for eating, staying, and entertainment – super convenient and definitely worth a second visit!"

"This was my first time staying at a hotel in Shantou, and I was pleasantly surprised by this one! **Location:** The location is super convenient. It's very close to the high-speed train station, less than a 10-minute drive away. However, Shantou's city center isn't very large, so it feels like most places are within a 15-minute drive. Plus, there are plenty of shared electric scooters available, so I'd recommend just using those to get around instead of taxis. **Facilities:** The hotel facilities are quite new, and many little details are very thoughtful. The rooms are fully automated, and the equipment used is all from good brands. **Hygiene:** The hygiene is great. As someone who's particular about bedding when traveling, I thoroughly checked it, and everything was very clean. The pillows were also very comfortable to sleep on. **Service:** The staff and front desk were all very enthusiastic. When we checked in, they even gave us a Shantou travel guide, and the manager recommended some great restaurants. The manager's recommendation for the '促肉粿条' (pork and noodle dish) near Xinxu was truly delicious! It only opens after 10 PM! **Environment:** I chose this hotel because of its very modern decor. Young people should really like it; it's very contemporary and perfect for photos. The atmosphere during our stay was fantastic. Overall, my stay was excellent, and I would choose this hotel again next time."

"A solid, modern choice for a short trip. The property is fresh and has some really cool features, like the robot that delivers food directly to your doorstep—it's a very convenient and cool touch. Highlights: Love the dual-pillow options (soft/hard) and the 24-hour front desk that helps manage the laundry for you. We were also grateful for the free room extension until 1 PM. Drawbacks: No ground-floor staff to help with bags since the lobby is on Level 2. Wi-Fi signal is weak, and the breakfast is the same every day (though there are many eateries nearby). Smells: You’ll notice the wet market smell outside and the strong essential oil scent in the lobby, but it’s manageable since you aren't at the hotel lobby all day."
