Majestic Residence

I am writing to you directly from the majestic residence. positive note: it is clean. nothing to say about this. negative notes: the building is I don't know how many years old. the apartments are spartan to say the least, with only the essentials, but kept in pitiful conditions. we will be here for a week but we have already realized the type of structure. it is certainly a residence that works a few months a year, but this does not justify its squalor. major soundproofing problems. you can even hear the sneezing from the other wing of the building. last night I heard the neighbors saying goodnight. so sleeping is a utopia. my advice is that if you have a spirit of adaptation and you only use the residence for sleeping, then proceed but with caution. in all other cases forget it. I don't think I have ever stayed in a place like this. looking out from the balcony you can see ruined, moldy walls, dirt on the ground floor. I sincerely have no spirit of adaptation, but here the judgment is objective! I hope I have been of help.

I would like to reassure all those who intend to stay in Scalea, especially in the residence mentioned above. I stayed in the residence in the month of June, I would like to give my experience as an example, which I consider quite satisfactory. The apartment assigned to me certainly had some shortcomings, also found in other holiday resorts, but not as serious as presented in the previous review and not such as to prevent me from having a pleasant holiday. That said, the reason that pushed me to write this review is to prevent such exaggeratedly negative publicity to a location and a structure that does not deserve it.

First of all, next to the Caledonia hotel, it is the best located in the city in terms of area. I rented an apartment for 6 days, my wife and my daughter. Its location: you are 2.5 km from the Rambla, 200 meters from Gaudí's house, 800 meters from Plaza Cataluña, 2.3 km from the Sagrada Familia. The port at 2.4 km. 70% of the visits are made on foot, otherwise, you walk to Pza Cataluña and from there the tourist buses that take you around the city. You have 3 different mini-supermarkets at 150 meters each. Pharmacies, 2 different, 200 meters each. A bakery at 300 meters. Paseo de Gracia has all the top brands on the avenue, meters from the hotel. For example, Vuitton is around the corner from the hotel. The apartments: they are impeccable, furniture in excellent condition, super level mattresses, bathrooms with hydro, top brand air conditioners. All the utensils, pans, nothing was missing, down to the smallest detail. The cleaning of the apartments, € 50 per day, expensive in my opinion but the apartments justify it…..they are really top. The apartment complex is in front of the hotel, you enter with the same card that you enter your apartment. The staff is not good, you have to beg them to attend to you, when a problem arises they lack development, they do not have spontaneity. In my case, I ended up always asking to speak with Manuel, who showed initiative and resolution, practicality. Really, a hotel like this cannot have personnel who do not know how to deal with a problem. It was a complete disappointment.
