Beautiful stay in Bardolino, We stayed in a comfort room which was recently renovated and modern. It was spotlessly clean. Breakfast had plenty of choice including bacon egg, toast, cereals, fresh pastries etc. A man who we believed to be the owner was quite unfriendly but the other staff couldn’t have been nicer and more friendly especially Virginia on the desk who printed bus times for us and told us about things to do. Pool was also great however you would struggle to get a sunbed if you went out and came back 2/3pm some days as its not massive!

Location- Not a bad location, not too far from the lake and not too far from the harbour and lots of restaurants. There is a busy main road yards from the hotel though, but it does host a busy bus route which is helpful. Just across the busy road from the hotel is a large shopping store, helpful to stock up. Location was probably the best bit about this hotel. Service/ staff- Cleaners were a pain in the ***, they kept moving our things. There was no reason for this and no excuse. We kept our room tidy but they continued to mess with our things. In the end we asked at reception for them to stop entering our room. The level of service depended largely on who was at the reception area. Most staff would say they did not understand but were able to understand when they were charging you for something. One member of staff was very friendly and did try to help us. Room- We did not rate the room at all. Tv did work, fridge kept things slightly below room temperature and the air conditioning sounded like a lawn mower at times. The balcony over looked the pool but we felt there was no privacy as it was overlooked by other balconies. The balconies were all joined and the only thing separating them were a small “baby gate”. Pool area- The pool was cold but needed in the Italian summer sun. Lovely scenery with overhanging lemon trees. Sadly found ourselves chasing the sun as the day went in as big shadows from the overlooking local hotels were a bit of a pain. Pool was clean though and a must for the summer months. Breakfast- Plenty of choice, nice, good quality food. Apart from the juice, a few too many and you might find out what I mean.

Currently staying at this hotel. The location is excellent a 5minute walk to the lake and numerous restaurants and bars. The staff all speak excellent English and are very helpful and polite. The breakfast is fresh and plentiful. A massive bonus is having the swimming pool.

Looking back through nearly 10 years of previous reviews ,it is difficult to disagree with or add to the comments made already that would help encourage you to visit the Hotel Capri, Every aspect is top class and deserves the praise that it receives. Bardolino was our choice of location and should be yours. Just one tongue-in-cheek remark .. the Owner/Manager oversees an excellent Breakfast Buffet but a smile and greeting to guests would really be appreciated.

Great hotel , very twee rooms . We stayed in a superior room , so more than big enough with ample storage and a large balcony . We stayed on a B&B basis. Breakfast was the same every day , but met our needs. The staff were friendly and helpful. A 10 minute stroll to the centre , which was lovely ! The only gripe ( and it is small ) , on returning to the hotel one evening we asked for some ice to take to the room and were refused ? We were only able to have this if we purchased a drink from the bar ? This in the main is understandable, however you have a mini bar in the room ? So you can have ice in your drink downstairs at the bar ( which you pay for ) but you can’t have ice in your drink from the mini bar ( which you pay for ) ? That aside a wonderful stay .

We used to run a small hotel ourselves so we don't often leave public reviews, preferring to send any feedback privately. We had such a good stay here that we felt we needed to. We stayed for a week in one of the refurbished rooms on the first floor. Great beds which were (we think) Super King sized, even better showers and excellent (150mbps+ download speeds) wifi. Breakfasts were extensive - everything from bread, croissants and cereals all the way up to eggs, bacon, local hams and cheeses. There was even prosecco available if that's your thing at breakfast! Hotel is a 5 min walk from the stunning lakeside, there's loads of great restuarants in the town itself and the pool's really good too. Bardolino is well connected on the lake's ferry routes and there are frequent bus services up and down the coast if, like us, you haven't got a car. Easy to get about on foot or by bike too. When you've run a hotel yourself, it's easy to find faults or things you would have done differently. We couldn't find anything we would have changed. From the initial email enquiry to the moment we checked out, the staff were super friendly, welcoming and helpful. Huge "thumbs up" from us and we hope to return in the future if our travels bring us back to the area.

From the looks of it, this hotel was exactly what I was looking for, a night getaway with my wife from a larger city roughly 60km away. But I was not afforded the opportunity. On the day of check in, I tried to see if I could change my dates to another weekend in August because there was a severe weather warning in my location. I was informed I couldn’t and while on hold, my credit card was charged. Very sneaky and suspicious, I tried inquiring why my credit card was being charged without my knowledge and the receptionist AnnaLaura, pretended to not understand what I was saying in English. However, I understood it was a risk trying to change the dates the day of check in and understood when I was told no. My wife and discussed it further and decided it was not worth the risk of driving, so we called a second time. When I called the second time, it was to confirm we were not coming and canceling our reservation. Canceling, meaning, do not expect us tonight and if someone would like to book the room, please allow them to do so because we will not be coming; not that we want a refund. As soon as I said the word cancel, AnnaLaura immediately became defensive and condescending when “trying” to refer to the cancellation policy. I was doing a courtesy call to let Hotel Capri know my wife and I discussed it and we would not be coming in. In the midst of AnnaLaura’s condescending tone, my wife’s phone dies. While she has it on the charger, my wife and I again begin debating whether or not we should just take the risk as the rain was not as bad. As we’re discussing and beginning to pack our bags, we received a nasty email on our laptop from AnnaLaura accusing us of hanging up the phone! I called back from my phone and she has the audacity to question why I did not call back right away…it was a disastrous conversation to say the least. I wasn’t going to write a review, I was going to leave it all alone because there was lots of miscommunication between myself and the hotel and I wanted to give the hotel another try maybe at a later date. But to wake up to an email the following day, stating I was difficult to have a phone conversation and that they were unsure if we were still coming, was infuriating. Today, I am being threatened with legal action because I explained the time of events in response to the email, and asked to not be contacted any further because it was harassing at this point. Their response was to call their lawyers on me lol This place is unprofessional and it trickles down to the employees. An absolute joke and I am so glad I did not step foot into this place! Beware of what you may be walking into when dealing with these people!

Stayed June 2023, lovely hotel, exceptionally clean, breakfast excellent. Friendly and helpful staff, nothing too much trouble. Location perfect for a 5 minute walk to the lake and 10 minutes to the centre of Bardilino. Pool area very nice. Should be rated 4 star.
