The lodge is located within beautiful nature and we were able to had two awesome and unforgettable nights. Everything from the food to the service to the quality of the tents was amazing! We will definitely come back! Especially Kafinda, the housekeeper, was amazing. Every night he prepared us a fire (bush tv) right in front of our tent and surprised us with a hot water bottle in our bed for the night! He was very caring and service oriented. All in all we can highly recommend a stay at ASANJA Moru!! Ann-Sophie & Nils

Wow, lie in your bed a hear lions roar knowing you are safe to sleep, enjoy the ‘African massage’ to get here, but worth the journey, a small and perfect place to stay while on safari, staff were kind, helpful and friendly, the food lovely, you just go with what you get, but plenty to keep 2 teenagers happy.

We stayed in the beautiful Asanja Camp in March 2025 and it was truly magical. Our experience was made so special not only by the amazing nature and wildlife but the wonderful hospitality of all the staff in Asanja. We were met by the extremely knowledgeable and welcoming guide Sherif from Seronera airport and from the start of our journey we were so impressed by the knowledge and expertise of Sherif. We enjoyed 3 days of safari and Sherif ensured that we did not miss out on experiencing all of the wonders of the Serengeti including sunrise and sunset drives to see the wildlife and nature. Our experience was enhanced by the food prepared in the camp which was 5 stars, we were particularly grateful for the delicious wake-up fresh coffee and biscuits before our sunrise safari. The tent was beautifully decorated and comfortable and had all the amenities you need while still feeling in the wild while seeing elephants and zebras outside the tent. The camp staff created a welcoming and “wild” experience for us to enjoy and we were greatly entertained by “bush tv” at the camp fire. We cannot recommend Asanja, the staff and our guide Sherif highly enough who made it a trip of a lifetime for us and we felt very privileged to have experienced the wild Serengeti and safari thanks to their expertise.

We visited Serengeti from 01-05 Sep and were hosted by Asanja Moru. An excellent place to be in surrounded by nature and all animals, the staff here was ever smiling and always ready to help. It was such a great feeling to be served a hot cup of tea at 0330 in the morning when we were to leave for our Balloon safari. Another hallmark was the hot water bottle nicely tucked in your bed to make it warm. Hot shower is available. A memorable stay. Special thanks to Kevin, Moses and the chef providing great food. Thanks to Ms Kimti for all the coordination and the lovely sundowner. Will soon be back.

It was an incredible experience at the Asanja Moru tented camp! The food was excellent, and the staff friendly and attentive. The camp (individual ensuite tents and main tent) was open to nature with no electric fences. One night we definitely had a large non-hoofed animal on our deck that made the floor boards creak, however the thick walls of the tent made me feel comfortable (my wife on the other hand not so much)! The camp was a good drive from the airstrip, along some rough roads, but our driver Simon certainly made the most of the drive spotting animals along the way and we had a boxed lunch the second day to minimize back tracking which made for a wonderful long day spotting animals (and having close encounters) in the Serengeti. Upon our departure the camp staff sang the Jambo song, and each couple were given a bottle of wine which came in very handy later that day when at our subsequent camp’s afternoon game drive the Land Cruiser broke down and we spent an interesting hour and a half enjoying wine while waiting to be picked up.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Asanja Moru. The camp is located in Serengeti National Park making it an ideal place to stay to see wildlife and experience the expansive landscape. The accommodations and staff are top notch. Isaya, the manager, and staff are friendly, attentive and courteous. All the meals were delicious & generously portioned. They easily accommodate dietary restrictions too. The rooms are very spacious as well as quite private. The bed, pillows and linens were very comfortable! The shower amenities were well stocked too. Highly recommend and would definitely stay at Asanja Moru again.

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed a 3 night stay at Asanja in the Moru region of the Serengeti. Our guide and driver, Sharif, picked us up from Arusha to bring us to camp. Once we arrived in the evening, we were greeted with a cozy campfire and a delicious buffet style dinner under the stars. It does get quite cold at night and we were a bit unprepared, but the staff were kind enough to provide blankets for my nieces who were feeling chilly. Each day, we had a variety of foods that always accommodated the dietary preferences of those in our party. The days that we were out all day, we were provided a healthy, well-rounded packed lunch to eat on the road. The meals at camp though were really remarkable. We also enjoyed unlimited access to tea and coffee. The tent we were assigned was very large with a living room and two bedrooms with attached bathrooms that was able to accommodate all 7 of us. Since the camp location was pretty remote, we were even able to hear a lion’s roar on our first night. As for the safari, we really appreciated Sharif as he was very kind and knowledgeable, educating us on the animals in the park as well as Masai traditions and monuments - his passion and enthusiasm really showed. We were able to see elephants, giraffe, lions, wildebeest, impala, warthogs, rhino, and lots of zebras! We went for a sunrise drive on our second day and enjoyed breakfast set up at Jiwe la Chapati with a great view overlooking the park. Asanja went above and behind in providing excellent service throughout the duration of our stay. Although we were sad to leave, our send off included beautiful song and dance from the staff. They also made it easy to continue our journey in Tanzania by driving us to Kilimanjaro Airport and booking our flight and hotel for our next stop, Zanzibar. All around, it was a wonderful experience!

This was the highlight of our family trip to Tanzania as it gave the closest experience to being in the open in the Serengeti one could hope for. The staff were both friendly and attentive. The food was excellent and the tents of high quality (totally different to our expectations). The fact that you can sit in the communal area having breakfast at 6.30am, watching the sunrise from the east and watching a giraffe feeding no more than 50 yards away to the west sums up why you should stay here. The base is situated such that within minutes of leaving you come across wildlife and, as we were out for 12 hours, the packed lunch supplied was thoroughly enjoyed by all. And, as for the animals seen it was amazing , culminating in seeing a pair of cheetah's less than 10 minutes from the camp, something that is rare around this area. The welcome after each drive, and on leaving, was also lovely and we cannot wait to return. An extra bonus was the complementary clothes washing service, really useful if, like us, the stay was in the middle/latter stages of the safari experience. As the last reviewer stated, it does get cool in the evening so have some warm clothes, but the hot water bottles definitely take any chill away from the bed. Mosquitos were not a problem at this time of the year, but they still provided a repellent, mainly for the tsetse fly although, again we had little evidence of them . The drives are bumpy but great fun and that's part of the experience I cannot recommend this lodge highly enough.
