I visited the Barley Mow last weekend with my girlie pops and wow what an astonishing atmosphere, with 10/10 service, we met some really lovely friend here, the staff were so friendly, helpful and welcoming . The food was so good, I will 100% be coming here again.

We treated the family to a meal before Christmas. Usually it is good but tonight the vegetables were so over cooked there was nothing left of them & the sprouts were virtually raw?? Presentation was poor. Very disappointed & it cost me a lot of money. We did comment on the meal but they were not bothered.

We had a fantastic weekend stay at The Barley Mow. Lovely food, a cosy room and exceptional staff. With pendle hill on its doorstep and beautiful villages in the vicinity, it makes a perfect base to explore the Ribble valley. Will recommend and certainly be back!

Had a lovely meal myself. But if you have an allergy i’d strongly recommend that you either call in advance or not attend! My child has an egg allergy, so picked a VEGAN option (as NO animal products should be in the food) - but was told it contained EGG! So we chose another one of their VEGAN options and that also contained egg, 🤦♀️. The staff had no clue what vegan meant or we’re confident with discussing allergy information. Was very unsettling so my child just had chips to be safe. not good

Staff are largely very helpful and the rooms are comfy but during our 3 night stay there are a few little niggles: 1. TV wasn't working (no firestick plugged in so not unexpected!) which meant we had to change room after one night. Staff were really good moving us but it was a foreseen issue. 2. We came back 10.30pm one night and the pub being in darkness. We were a bit concerned as there is no phone signal so we couldn't phone the pub. We finally found a way in up the fire escape. This could and should have been communicated to us when we booked in. 3. The beds weren't turned down or tea/biscuits restocked. 4. On our last night (tonight) we had to wait to be served with drinks whilst bar staff finished their conversation. We're not moaners but we paid handsomely to stay here over Halloween and the above would have made a nice visit even better. We're checking out tomorrow.

A group of us did a short ramble around Barley for the first and it was glorious. We then repaired to the Barley Mow for a late, long lunch and found evrything to our satisfaction. Food good, service even better, atmosphere first class. Thank you

We were charged double for both our rooms. When we questioned this we were told it was correct. The manager later admitted we had been overcharged. 2 weeks later I am still waiting for the manager to return my calls so the refund can be processed. The evening meal was exceptional but unfortunately the breakfast wasn't. 2 breakfasts had to be sent back as they were cold, the 2nd day we didn't have a main breakfast even though it is included in the price. Also the kitchen staff blasted their music out from 6am which could be heard in our rooms. Beautiful rooms but the whole experience was a let down.
