As always the staff are very friendly, the food next door is good and staff are attentive to dietary needs. Unfortunately the hotel let us as blue badge holders down by not advertising the fact that they were giving away the blue badge spaces to any one because they let workmen park a cherry picker across 8 spaces. There's only 4 blue spaces as it is, not really any point having accessible rooms if you're giving away the accessible parking. Will definitely make us think twice about booking again.

Used PI for years. Today the room smells fusty and the restaurant next door is the worse food I've had for years. Burger so dripping in fat that my beard wash struggled! Chicken wings microwaved and loads of bbq sauce smothered. Good service but my God PI cutting some massive corners. Gonna be pubs with rooms from now on. Of my last 5 visits 3 have been terrible.

You get what you pay for. We paid just over £40 per night for a family of 4 and it provided a comfy bed for a few nights. Cons: The corridors are shabby with cracked ceiling panels, the bathrooms shabby and dated. There was someone elses rubbish under the bed when we checked in, so I question the quality of the clean between visitors. The Table Table that is beside which serves the breakfast didn't have a buffet style breakfast and only instant coffee. Generally speaking the food was ok. Pros: cheap. Comfy beds and pillows. Good location with a Tesco over the road and a soft play next door. If you're on a budget and need a cheap comfy bed for the night, then it's a winner

The hotel is dated and the rooms smell of smoke - the receptionist even told us that builders near by had figured out if they cover the sensor they can smoke in the room. The two rooms we tried smelt of smoke. All the clothes we wore and was in our bag - including shopping we purchased smelt of smoke! Everything had to be washed. Even the bags had to be aired. The worse premier inn experience and we have stayed in a few! It is a hotel to be avoided. Didnt sleep due to the smell.

The staff were absolutely fantastic, especially considering they were working over Christmas. They were friendly, helpful, and went out of their way to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Unfortunately, the hotel itself was well below standard, even for a Premier Inn. We chose this hotel as a simple base since we were spending most of our time elsewhere, and basic would have been fine—if it weren’t for the overpowering smell of damp in the room. The bathroom was particularly awful, with black mould in the grout, loose tiles, and a terrible smell. It wasn’t a space you wanted to use, let alone come out of feeling clean. The breakfast also needs significant improvement. There was a lack of continental options compared to other Premier Inns, and the cooked breakfast was cold, overly greasy, and frankly inedible. While the staff’s efforts were commendable, the condition of the hotel and the poor breakfast made it disappointing overall.

Car park was in a poor state, great care needed to enter and exit without damaging my vehicle. Check in was fast and friendly. Corridors smelled of stale sweat and smoke.Worst mattress I have ever had in any hotel, totally knackered should have been replaced long ago.Evening meal was good quality.

We stayed here because we were attending a funeral at the nearby crematorium. I notice that other reviewers give this as a reason for booking at this hotel. Our miserable two night stay here added immeasurably to the stress of the occasion, so much so that two of our group cancelled the second night of their stay and opted for a late night four hour train journey home rather than endure another night at Barnstable's Premier Inn. On the day that we arrived and drove into the carpark we had a near miss with a huge digger that was negotiating without a banksman. The reception staff were admittedly friendly, but friendliness is no substitute for cleanliness. Our room was dingy and dirty with shabby well-worn furniture. There was a hair in the basin and an infuriating loo paper dispenser, a thing that I've only ever seen in public lavatories before. Next morning at breakfast there was an off putting pile of fag ends around the door of the restaurant, some of which had been trodden into the carpet in the restaurant itself. Our table was sticky as were the breakfast menus and we were surprised to see several builders, presumably working on the hotel renovations, serving themselves to the breakfast buffet wearing dirty overalls and site boots. The management's contempt for anyone who stays at this disgraceful hotel is obvious and unashamed.
