I read the reviews on Trip Advisor and was thinking of changing hotels. However, the rest of my team was staying here, so I thought that I would give the hotel a chance. The front desk was efficient and generally friendly during check in. No bellhops available to help with the luggage, but I struggled up to my room. Initially, looked clean and tidy. But then I went into the bathroom. Moved the shower curtain back to find three, large, black, long hairs in the bathtub. Noted water spots on tile and the bottom of the tub was grungy with soap scum. There was the rush and paint peeling as noted in many of the other reviews. That was not as off-putting as the tub. Left note of the toilet asking to clean up the hair. The next day, despite me being out of the room all of the afternoon, the room was not cleaned (therefore, note never read). I called the front desk and informed them that the room had not been cleaned. They stated that the cleaning staff leaves at 5 PM. Guess they do not have a night maid, which most higher end hotels have. So, I had to wait for the third day to get the tub cleaned. After the third day of staying at the hotel, the maid must have seen my note as the paper was removed and placed on the bedside table. Went to the shower only to find the same hairs, soap scum. I am not sure housekeeping even touched the shower to clean. There was mold and mildew on the grout where the tile met the tub. I know this is difficult to clean, but I was able to clean some off. It is very sad that this was the headquarter hotel for the National Women's Bowling Tournament. Even though the decor was dated, it would have been fine had the service been up to par. The only thing that the hotel had going for it was the proximity to the bowling event.
