Paradisus Grand Cana

It's our first time going for an all inclusive and we had a wonderful time. We were travelling with our 5 and 8 year old kids. From the time we got there our concierge Julianna took care of everything from check in, to restaurant reservations, spa bookings, shuttle service and check out. She was very friendly and went out of her way to help us out. The rooms were very clean and looked like it was recently renovated. The pools, water park and beaches were all great. They also have a very good spa. The only thing that wasn't a 10/10 was the food. The first two days we were there, the main buffet restaurant was booked out for a private event, and the makeshift buffet at the pool side restaurant wasn't the best. Once we got access to the main restaurant on the third day is when we realized what we missed out on. The buffet there was really good. The steakhouse was average, the Teppanyaki restaurant was better, the sports bar was good, the beach side restaurant wasn't bad, but not too many options. The main buffet was the best option. It's just the pool side restaurant that I would not recommend. Overall was a great experience, very friendly staff. There were enough activities to keep us occupied during our time there - water aerobics classes, knitting, night circus, kids movie night. Also would recommend the professional photographer there, we got some great family photographs done at the beach and the garden - at an additional cost. We didn't even bother with any excursions since we had such a great time between the beach, pool and water park. We would love to visit again.

I’ve had many massages in my travels, but Elisabeth at Maia Spa, Paradisus Grand Cana is hands down the best masseuse I have ever had. She has tremendous technique and strength/stamina that provides an incredibly therapeutic experience. In fact, she was so incredible that I returned the next day for a second appointment with her. I absolutely recommend her!

We have had the pleasure to travel to many Paradisus resorts over the years but this was our first in Dominican. We always select the family concierge upgrade feeling the added perks worth the cost. Now we have had many vacations and know that some don’t always go perfect, or meet our high expectations. This is where the true value of your concierge comes to light. Our issue was getting the dinner reservations we wanted…we weren’t pleased with the selections or reservation times compared to past experiences with Paradisus. Certainly didn’t feel like priority seating. This is where I will give a shout out to Yerfy…our concierge. He was pleasant, attentive and always smiling. We let him know about our concerns and he worked hard to address them. The remainder of our trip met or exceeded our expectations. He made sure we experienced the full dining options of the resort….and the food is one of the main reasons we keep returning to Paradisus resorts so it was important to us. He managed to turn a negative into a positive. Well done and thanks to ALL the great staff that made an impression…Francis & the breakfast team at Mangu…Alexander the barkeep was a laugh and made some fantastic cocktails!
