Hotel Rosa

Stayed to break a very long drive (over 8 hours in the car before we arrived). Have another 400miles to drive today. Went to bed early to try to sleep. At 1am the emergency lights came on in my room - no way to switch them off, clearly an electrical problem. I called the reception and he said there was a problem but it resolved about fifteen minutes later. I asked to speak to the manager this morning and just had the enormous displeasure of speaking to Marco. He has an enormous attitude and told me that the electrical fault affected everyone in the hotel (that’s a lie, Marco, the rest of my family in room 901 were not affected) and indeed the whole of Baveno.... strange then, that I was the only person who called reception to report it. Marco’s demeanour was aggressive - I had to tell him to stop raising his voice to me and to put down his hands. Honestly, if he had been physically bigger I might have been intimidated. I am 5’3... Marco refused to see he might have to apologise or offer any compensation. Actually disgusting in 2022 that somebody this unsuited is involved in the hospitality industry. He told me it was all my problem and that he was ok with the situation. My husband paid cash directly to the the hotel for my room, specifically so I could sleep. Our other room was booked through booking dot com. Avoid this place at all costs - room 603 had an electrical fault and room 901 is directly by the exit to the car park so the door will crash all night.
