Beaune is always a good stop being the half way point to the South of France. I have stayed at Hotel de La Paix a number of times because of its central location to the restaurants, secure car park, consistent quality of service. The breakfast is also very good and well priced. Well done!

Just ok. Main hotel is being renovated. On the website they tell you this will not have an impact on your stay, but that is not true. The breakfast is now offered down the street at a restaurant, and you can do just as well at à Boulangerie for 10 euros. Breakfast doesn’t start until 0830, 0900 on Sunday. It was hard to find the hotel entrance-/Google maps will lead you astray. WiFi weak or nonexistent in room #7. People partying until 2 am in the square just outside our room kept me awake. Room so tiny there’s no room for two suitcases. No thank you

I try and stay here every time as the staff are great, the local is ideal and the price is amazing. They are renovating the main hotel at the moment but the staff are working twice as hard to make sure you have a great stay. Credit where credit is due, really great hotel that I would recommend to anyone at an amazing price.

Location of this hotel is great for walking into Beaune for an explore. Just outside the centre and the city ramparts. And it has secure parking for 10 euros a night. The room (we were in the annexe) was very basic with a double (not kingsize) bed, no wardrobe/drawers, no kettle, fridge etc, and pretty dated decor. The shower was good. Breakfast was the high point - great variety of bread, pastries, baked goods, yoghurts, fruit, cheeses and cold meats, plus good coffee. OK for a stopover of one or two nights when visiting Beaune.

Terrible service! Not welcoming! No English speaking or understanding. Wrong room, can’t stand up! Loud doors slamming! No Bar as stated on website! I expected more from a Rick Steves recommendation. Maybe a 2 star hotel. AC was the only good thing!

Not good. The room was pleasant enough but hauling luggage up two flights of stairs (no elevator) is sub-optimal for a 75 year old. Then there's no shower...just a hand-held in the bath. Then breakfast ran out of things...croissants for example. And then our room didn't get serviced one day...and the staff were non-communicative to the point of being comatose. Would I stay there again? No.

The Pros: Spacious room for a family of 5. Aircon worked. Clean bed sheets. Tiled bathroom and toilet with ample white towels. Reasonable price for 1 night. The Negatives: Room outdated Brown carpet, stained and looked dirty. Room could have been cleaner. Breakfast disappointing. Fruit bruised and looked sad. Not much variety, which is fine, but please get the basics right, e.g dont serve oily croissants.
