Beckenham Park Hotel

Made a big mistake thinking this was a normal hotel but it was just rooms. When we arrived we were shocked by the entrance and nearly left. Having said that the room was clean and comfortable but so overpriced. Wished we had booked premier inn instead.

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. On arrival, you ring the bell to get in and a disembodied voice activates the door and informs you that your key is on the windowsill. On gaining access, you see a couple of keys with a scrap of receipt with names and numbers. Finding your own, you look for your room. There is no human interaction. The room was small and basic. The shower room was clean, but the toilet lid was up and someone had taken a massive dark orange pee and not flushed. How could housekeeping possibly have missed this? There was no bedside table and no bedside light. The small tv, the kettle and a lamp on the desk by the window all shared one plug socket. The room was very cold. There was a radiator but it was off. There was also a small plug-in radiator that was on, but it was not up to the job. It was heavy but I manoeuvred it round so that it faced the bed. It was so cold that I kept my coat on. There was no information at all in the room (breakfast times, checkout, wi-fi etc) and no sign at all of any staff. After an 8 hour journey I did not feel like going on a search. I went to bed and it was so cold I slept in my clothes under the inadequate duvet with my coat on top. On the plus side there was plenty of tea and coffee provided (but not much milk). In the morning I just wanted to get out of the place, so did not stay for breakfast. Never again.

Parking is excellent, bed linen is clean. Dangerous lip to en-suite for those with mobility issues. Decor looking tired, had to forgo breakfast as access was in basement down steep stairs which I couldn’t manage. No other cars in car park - says it all.

Was here a year ago , booked in by company , couldn’t quite put my finger on what was wrong with the place , from last time I stayed, AGAIN wasn’t soon that long before I remembered NO HOT WATER & NO HEATING & if you opt for the BREAKFAST that too is DIABOLICAL WHEN SPEAKING TO THE MANAGER/OWNER , the RAT just laughing , same EXCUSE as last time whilst laughing at me , I don’t know what wrong with it I’m not ENGINEER YEAR AND A HALF LATER THE SANE PROBLEM EXISTS with THE SAME EXSCUSE

This is more of a bed and breakfast than a hotel, there is no reception for booking in you just ring the bell and you are let in then Issued a key and a fob and told where your room is, it wasn’t a very personable experience. Our room was downstairs it was quite dark and absolutely freezing although there was a stand alone heater which we used alongside turning on the radiator. We couldn’t get a signal on our phones so I returned upstairs to ask for the Wi-Fi code, luckily it would have been nice to have been given this at least on arrival. The en suite had no heating at all so that remained cold. We were next to the breakfast room as well which was pretty noisy in the morning, we didn’t opt for breakfast, I believe it was only a continental anyway. The room was clean and we did have tea and coffee facilities but we were disappointed with how cold and unwelcoming the room was and believe it was over priced at £135

How can this be a hotel without any facilities? On arrival no information about the hotel, given key to our room which was on first arrival ok then I noticed the carpet was horrible and a stain on the throw. Luke warm shower. I was told on booking the cost was B&B but it was not stated it was continental. In saying that the breakfast was nice with variety. The bed was clean and comfortable but the one pillow not great. We received milk on the first day of arrival but no other. Travelodge for me!
