Freeman on Ford

My husband and I have just returned from a road trip taking in Beechworth and a couple of other towns. We booked into Freeman on Ford and spent 4 glorious nights there. Heidi and Jim excelled themselves in providing a 5 star bed and breakfast. If you want luxury, this is the place to go. Every tiny little detail has been thought of, from providing two luggage racks to the best breakfast personally prepared and brought to the breakfast table by Jim. There are too many details to number, but absolutely nothing has been left out. We hope to return to Beechworth next year. We have never stayed anywhere so perfect. Thank you both.

Beechworth is historic and fascinating - so is Freeman on Ford - luxurious comfort. Don't miss the opportunity to stay. You will not find better hosts than Heidi and Jim, they are so helpful, thoughtful and they love spoiling you. You won't be disappointed. And I haven't even mentioned the afternoon teas and the breakfasts!

Heidi greeted us like long lost friends. She advised us on where to eat and also places to visit. The building is full of history with antiques and artefacts. The lounges are very welcoming with beautiful furniture and overlooking the pool. Our room was absolutely amazing and everything was spotless. Breakfast was excellent with a large choice. It was a lovely oasis to come back to after a day out.

Thanks again Heidi and Jim for your wonderful hospitality which is second to none. From the delicious fruit starter followed by a delicious hot breakfast to the afternoon cakes with tea or coffee through to the nightcap of Port and chocolates, we felt pampered every day. Our suite overlooking the gardens and pool is not only a delight to behold but also a great place to relax and while away a hot summer’s day in the sun or shade, sipping a cool beverage in between cooling dips taken in the luxurious pool set at the rear – a hidden haven of tranquility in a bustling country town. A fabulous location right on the main street, although you would never know as the loudest sounds you hear are the Kookaburra's at dawn and at dusk. Heidi and Jim are a wealth of knowledge and can guide you to places of interest to visit nearby. The rooms are spotlessly clean and come with all the facilities you would expect from a 5-star Hotel. Thanks for the golden memories we have made. We can't wait until our next visit.

My husband Greg and I spent 3 wonderful days in Beechworth and stayed at an historic, luxurious and distinctive B&B, Freeman on Ford, in centre of town. Perfect location within walking distance of shops, restaurants, bakery, etc. Our room was beautiful, very comfortable and overlooked the lovely pool area. Exemplary service, cooked breakfast and delicious afternoon tea. A perfect stay! Our hosts, Heidi and Jim, are very friendly and made us feel very welcome and special. We will be back!

We stayed two nights at this gem and from the moment we were greeted by Heidi we felt at home. Heidi immediately upgraded us to a superior room with no stairs – next to the amazing pool and courtyard - as my wife is pregnant and from there it was perfect. This set the scene for the perfect stay! We were looking for a relaxing getaway and this place provides everything you need. The accommodation is so good you feel like you are in a Mexican mansion, the marble tiles are amazing, the bathroom and beds are just spacious and comfortable, you will treat the place like home and it is spotless. Plenty of room and the common rooms are fantastic too. The attention to detail in the renovation of this hotel is amazing The accommodation is on the main st and a close walk to all the restaurants and Heidi will provide recommendations for dinner and places to go. Detailed guidance is provided in advance so you can make bookings which may be essential in busier times. The breakfast is insanely good, you order ahead and it is immaculate and delicious and no cost is spared by Heidi believe me. The attention to detail is amazing. On arrival you will have a cake – which is so good! Make sure you leave room for dinner. The cake is the best you will ever have. We loved our stay, we were seeking a relaxing and comfortable short term break and that what Heidi and Freeman on Ford provided. It’s a 10 out of 10 and we will be back!
