My recent experience at Hotel Restaurant De Twee Linden left much to be desired. Despite its promising facade, the reality fell far short of expectations. Here's a breakdown of the various flaws encountered during my stay: Room Conditions: Upon entering my room, I was immediately struck by the presence of mold and silverfish, which certainly did not contribute to a pleasant atmosphere. Additionally, broken lights further exacerbated the discomfort and gave the impression of neglect. Housekeeping Oversight: It was evident that the housekeeping staff had overlooked my room's status. Despite my room being set to "Do Not Disturb," the maid still entered to clean, which was both intrusive and unsettling. Restaurant Service: The restaurant experience was equally disappointing. Service was excruciatingly slow, with waiters seemingly more interested in socializing at the bar than attending to customers. Our orders were inaccurately fulfilled, and it took an unreasonable amount of time—over an hour—to receive our food. Breakfast Selection: The breakfast offered little variety, and several items were notably absent, leaving guests with limited choices. Wi-Fi Woes: The Wi-Fi connectivity was abysmal, with speeds so slow they were practically unusable. Compounding the issue was the fact that the access point had default credentials, posing a significant security risk. Furthermore, guests on the network could see each other's devices, creating privacy concerns, and even worse, it was possible to access the hotel's IT equipment from the guest network—an unacceptable breach of security protocols. In summary, my experience at Hotel Restaurant De Twee Linden was marred by a multitude of flaws, ranging from subpar accommodations to dismal dining and connectivity issues. Given these shortcomings, I cannot in good conscience recommend this establishment to fellow travelers.
