Hotel Montemar

Booked a three day break for me and the wife this October Staff brillant hotel clean food great Little gem of a place overlooking the beach in Old Town Booked a sea view room very spacious cleaned every day with great views Stunning roof top bar

Just come back yesterday after a week at the fabulous Montemar! Spectacular views of the Mediterranean Sea from our sea view room, wish we had booked a VIP room as they are bigger and have more room and also have a bigger balcony with own sun loungers ( maybe next year) hotel is spotless and clean, just 2 mins from the dove park/old town and walking street. My only gripe would be the breakfast and beds, the hot breakfast was cold. We were down at breakfast every morning at 8.15am and all the food was cold/lukewarm. There was a good selection, plum Tomatoes, sausages, fried eggs, scrambled eggs, fried bread etc but cold May I suggest that you check the temperature of your hot plates we used the microwave to heat up our breakfast which was not a big deal. Our mattress in room 207 had dips in them and we had sore backs after the first night, we used the blankets in the wardrobe to get a better nights sleep which did help, you may want to look at changing the mattress in this room. The meals at night were fantastic there was something different to eat every night, pork, chicken, fish, chops, potatoes, chips vegetables etc it was very varied a lot of different salad’s soups as well it was very good and varied highly recommend going half board. The roof terrace was amazing had fabulous views of the Mediterranean and there was a wee bar selling drinks and cocktails . Would not hesitate to book again as this is now about our 5th time at the Montemar-well done to all the staff for making our holiday a brilliant experience

Lovely hotel ..beautiful postion.. staff were very helpful and friendly.. Food outstanding for the price .... spotlessly clean ... cannot fault it...would definitely stay there again ... sea was lovely and blue in fact shocked how lovely and clean benidorm was .. Very surprised by the whole area ..❤️

We have stayed several times here but could not get booked this time. But we visited every night to use the bar. We love this hotel so much. The staff make it a special place. Its so Spanish and wonderful. The entertainment is aimed at the mainly Spanish guests and is lovely. The bar staff and entertainment just make it for us. We love it. Cant wait to get back. We spent a week there at the end of August 2024. We appreciate the very kind and helpful staff from the beginning of our stay to the end. I forgot my bag at the restaurant, and it waited for me safely for two hours until I remembered. The hotel is very well located in the center of the western side of Benidorm's vast beach. It’s an excellent location for people who prefer walking everywhere. Our room had a balcony overlooking a cluster of palm trees and other trees, as well as the sea. It was impeccably clean, very comfortable, especially the bed, where we slept very well. This is even more so because the hotel is completely silent. Housekeeping was done every day. The self-service breakfast was plentiful and of good quality. I would gladly return to Montemar, and I would recommend it to my loved ones.

I was excited to finally book a trip to Benidorm, and chose the location of the hotel carefully to be close to the old town. Travelling solo I was allocated a single room, which I thought was fine. When I arrived, the location was perfect and the receptionist was polite and friendly. I checked that breakfast was included, she checked and then had to update my card. Obviously a mistake had been made. Anyway I head up to my room on the 6th floor, I was pleased to find a double bed (always afraid of falling out of a single), but the room was tiny. It was dark and dingy, with only a view of another window just a couple or so metres away. It felt a bit like a prison cell. I thought I just needed to make the best of it. There wasn't a great deal of storage space either. I went to breakfast the next morning - It was awful and very basic. I'm not sure what it was they were offering as bacon, but it definitely wasn't bacon as I know it, or the "unusual" bacon I've had in many Spanish hotels before. The scrambled eggs had brown "skin" mixed in, from where it had caught the pan and not been stirred constantly. I didn't eat dinner for a couple of nights, because the 8.00pm start time didn't fit in with my plans but, a few days later I did go to evening dinner. Again the food was awful. The worst hotel food I can ever remember, including tinned fruit salad or tinned fruit salad in jelly for desert. With cold custard! It appeared to be cheap rubbish. I did venture tor breakfast a second time during my 9 night stay. The bacon was just the same and the scrambled eggs still had brown "skin" mixed in. I wasn't brave enough to have dinner here a second time, or breakfast a third. However, I did find some lovely restaurants nearby. I know this hotel does have some lovely rooms, as I saw into some as I walked by. The hotel is itself spotlessly clean throughout. The 6th floor terrace was lovely, with fantastic views. Although it does lack a bar service before 4.00pm. So there are good points (along with a great location), but the food is awful and if you have a room like mine, you won't even be able to tell if the sun's out or not. When I checked out the receptionist just asked my room number, not did I have a nice stay or was everything OK. That surprised me
