The only good thing about this hotel during our stay was the praiseworthy cleanliness throughout. We were very dissatisfied with everything else. On the day of our arrival, it was clear that we would not arrive until late in the evening due to the storm in and around Hanover, which meant that our ICE train was delayed by several hours. After several attempts, I managed to get through to someone from the hotel on the phone. I was told it was no problem, we could come at night. When we finally reached the hotel at night in the rain, it was locked and there was no doorbell. As the hotel had no porch, we stood in the rain for a long time until we discovered an open mailbox which contained an envelope with my name and the door card on it, as well as those for two other hotel guests. Unfortunately, as pensioners, we had to carry our heavy suitcases up the stairs ourselves, as the elevator is only on during the day. When we got to the room, both windows were open and it was very cold, as the outside temperature was only 11 degrees and it was raining. We couldn't find any heating or anything similar. The bath towels were so thin that they were immediately soaked after a shower and there was no way to dry them. We later discovered these exact towels in a 1 euro shop. We also lost almost a whole day because the reception was only open from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. and guests were asked to settle their bill the day before departure. There was no other contact person in the hotel apart from the chambermaid, who did not speak German or English. We also saw a guest who wanted to book a room but found no one at the reception. So he went to the hotel one street away, where he was successful. We knew that we would not find 5-star service at these prices, but what we saw did not even correspond to one star. There was no breakfast either. Anyone who runs a hotel like this should at least have the reception open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and a night porter. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend this "hotel".
