Exceptional customer-focused service, luxurious location, diverse breakfast options, clean and spacious rooms, top-notch facilities, but some may find it too remote from town.

The door is difficult to open and lock. The room lighting is so dim. Not enough lightings. The wash basin in the toilet did not work. Couldn’t drain out the water. The meals are good enough for both dinner and breakfast. The dune sunset watching is the best part of the stay.

The hotel is about 10 kilometers away from the town. The rooms are clean but some of the equipment is a bit old. The room I booked is a half-day stay, which includes breakfast and breakfast the next day. The food variety is richer than expected. The camp also has free sunset watching and camel riding activities.

You arrive and you and your suitcases are taken on a quad bike with trailer to your room. Its a nice three star equivalent room with regular toilet and shower. Good a/c, decent bed. The staff are nice enough. Rajah was very nice Now here is where it is not good. You are promised a dune drive at 1700, it’s literally 1 minute drive up to the top of the dune, unbelievably oversold. Right then i realised the dune drive was a rip off. When you get up there there are quad bikes and jeeps dune bashing everywhere so it’s really not very nice. There is a cacophony of noise and you are keeping one eye out for incoming vehicles. The camel ride is similarly a few minutes. It is also misleading on expectation, its just a couple of minutes on the camel. They did look well treated though They want you to hire their quad bikes or get massages at a heavy price but apart from that there is nothing included vis a vis experiences. Very disappointed. The evening buffet food was actually good. The quoted time was 1930-2130 so we rocked up at 7:25. EVERY outside table was gone except a large number which were reserved. (We were not offered to make a reservation at reception) . So in truth the dining time is from 7 onwards so why list it as 7:30?. So being last in we were herded into the hard seating tables inside along with the drivers looking at the air conditioners. The waiter then wanted to upsell the drinks as per training. He just said tables all gone. It would have been lovely to have eaten outside under the stars on the soft cushioned banquettes but what could have been the highlight of the stay was denied ( on st valentines day too!). You are very much treated as a second class citizen here truth be told. There is local movie played outside and there is a so called lounge with pool table. Thats it. If you could get a hotel not so far away and just get a day tour with lunch and a bit of dune bashing and maybe learn about the wildlife a bit that would definitely be the way to go. A day trip from muscat in my opinion is way too much driving. They really provide nothing as part of a desert experience which we were heavily sold on. You dont expect to pay top dollar then effectively get ripped off No doubt this will get buried under lots of bought reviews but this is a real factual review which i hope may help others to choose It is on the edge of the desert and is aimed at omanis. Better more authentic camps are further in i am advised

Wonderful resort, and few miles into the desert, nestled between dunes. Based on cabins, with tented roofs (ours, not sure of all), proper bathroom, comfortable bed. Meals were exceptional, western and Arabic mixed (first time I've seen a make your own classroom salad bar), and we sat under the stars. Sunset from the top of the neighbouring dune (driven up) is a magical experience. There are some comments about having paths rather than walking in sand. This is as close to a desert experience, and that would ruin its authenticity. Staff are kind, friendly, engaged.

Accommodation is excellent, no lights to read by though - perhaps no one reads books now. Lovely evening meal under the stars with musicians. Very bumpy interesting drive to get there. They took us up the dunes for the sunset which was lovely. What was not lovely was about 20 dune buggies racing up and around the dunes and quad bikes shattering the peace. The stillness and darkness of the desert does not apply here - there is a fully lit racetrack next door so you cannot see the stars. It’s like something out of Mad Max. If dune bashing and quad bikes are your thing then it’s five star but if you want the amazing stillness and star gazing of the desert, this place is not for you.

This really big shame. I called and texted desert night camp this morning regarding my room request and they confirmed that. When I arrived in the camp the reception has given the room to someone else front of me when I asked him I have requested this room since morning and you confirmed that he said to me sorry only. What I do with sorry all the seasons I stay on that room only. and this all happened front of my guest

We drove from the Jebel Akhdar mountain to the Wahiba Sands Desert Nights Resort arriving in the afternoon passing camels along the way. This is a great place to experience a night in the desert. Its only a short signposted drive along the sand from the town where any amount of men offer to let your tyres down for one OMR. You will pass more camels and goats. The rooms are quite generous. We had one not far from reception which was quite handy for going to and fro. The evening started by being taken up the dunes to watch the sunset. Back for buffet supper which was quite good. Everyone goes to bed early. Camel ride before breakfast. Desert done! I think teenagers would absolutely love the dune bashing and quad bike trips. This is great for one night but no more. We actually had the best nights sleep here.

Unfortunately the lowest rating I can give is 1 star because zero stars is much more fitting! I emailed this resort ahead of time asking whether I could book activities ahead of time and was told to book on arrival. I just checked in and wanted to do several activities and was told they had no availability and were reserved for a large group. Very, very, disappointed. For the money I spent to stay here, this is an absolute abomination! You probably think that’s the worst of my experience, well, think again. After arriving from an evening activity, which I had to book at a nearby resort by the way because Desert Nights told me they couldn’t take me, I lifted up the pillows to my bed to find them absolutely soaked. I called the front desk and they told me it was because the A/C was leaking directly on the bed. I’m surprised nobody noticed that before you know, I actually checked into the room. After about 10 minutes, they said “okay room change.” Gee thanks. By the way, I’m writing this review from the restaurant. I’ve been sitting here for 10 minutes and no service. They’ve completely ignored me, perhaps because they know there is zero chance to recover from this disaster. Avoid this place if you’re looking for a magical time in the desert!! This place is horrendous.
