I stayed here for four nights for a business trip to the Binzen area. The staff at the hotel were very friendly, my room was small and a bit dated, it only had a single bed but did have A/C (which was nice in 30C heat in August) though my colleagues got rooms with double beds but no A/C, so it's a bit of a lottery. The breakfast was the same as a lot of German hotels, breads, cold meats, cheeses, yoghurts etc. We didn't use the restaurant but it looked popular so booking may be necessary. There is also a small pool available for use. The price of the room for four nights was reasonable.

We enjoyed our six-night stay. The room was large in a separate building. The furniture a bit dated and the bathroom very small. The bed was comfortable. The TV had no English stations. It was kind of nice because we did not watch the news for a week which was a nice break. The WI-FI was weak, but the manager provided us with a separate server for the room which made it perfect. The common areas of the hotel are very stylish with a nice mix of old and modern. The dining room is beautiful. Breakfast was delicious! We ate dinner one night. Some dishes delicious and superbe. Some so-so! (My husband disagrees. He thought all was excellent and he made sure I put this in the review.) The location to Basel is OK. There is an outdoor pool and I loved it and the garden. But a bit chilly in May.

Quietly located family owned and run hotel and restaurant near Basel. Very friendly and welcoming which you wish would be always like this. Spacious rooms, spacious bathrooms, nicely decorated, comfortable beds, good breakfast, quiet, green surrounding, but close to everything, and all of this for doable prices. But the best, don't miss to eat in the restaurant. Excellent!! Not the usual menu, great wine list, also not the usual, absolutely worth trying. We will definitely come back when we are in the area, or even make a small detour.

Friendly family run hotel with warm welcome and charming rooms. Very quiet. Special mention to the kindness of the staff, the excellent restaurant and the very good breakfast. Price/quality ratio excellent.

En route to Italy we had a stop at this comfortable, well run and charming hotel. One of the best nights sleep for a long time. The owner gave us some good advice on local restaurants (pizza is recommended). The breakfast was exceptional with, as highlights smart linen tablecloth, a brilliant espresso macchiato and a remarkable chocolate croissant.

Wir waren mit unserem Stammtisch im Restaurant und hatten für 10 Personen reserviert, waren allerdings zu 11 , hatten dann aber nur 7 Plätze, so daß ein Teil von uns im Nebenzimmer essen mußte. Das Restaurant war gut besucht, aber es waren nur 2 Kellner da. Eindeutig zu wenig. Um 19 Uhr haben wir die Getränke und Essen bestellt, nach 30 Minuten kam das 1. Bier, nach 2 Stunden und 15 Minuten das Essen, wobei die meisten von uns Tatar bestellt hatten, also etwas, das man nicht warm machen muß. Einer von uns hatte ein Schnitzel mit Kartoffelsalat bestellt, das Schnitzel bestand nur aus Panade und der Kartoffelsalat schmeckte nach nichts. Eine einzige Katastrophe und das bei den Preisen.

Trotz zweimaliger per E-Mail geäußerter Bitte, am Anreisetag um 20.00 einen Tisch für zwei Personen im Restaurant zu reservieren, erfolgte KEINE Reaktion. Bei pünktlicher Anreise über mehr als 500km um 20.00 Uhr wurde lapidar mitgeteilt, dass alles voll sei. Die Nachfrage, ob in absehbarer Zeit ein Tisch frei würde, wurde mit einem barschen „NEIN“ beschieden
