I travel often for business and am lifetime gold status with Marriott. I planned to stay 3 days. The first night was uneventful. I was put in a handicapped room but not unusual. The second night, right before bed, I saw the largest roach in the bathroom I had ever seen. I thought maybe they were spraying other rooms and I was concerned enough to put my food items in the refrigerator. Later that night I was woken by a slamming door. I then noticed another insect crawling across my bed. Alarmed it was a baby roach I immediately turned the light on. It kind of looked like a lightening bug. When tried to grab it in a tissue is burst. It was a bed bug engorged with blood. I immediately packed my belongings and asked for a different room. I was provided a new room but I couldn't trust this hotel and am not sure I will ever stay at Marriott again. I checked out at 6:30 am after sitting in the new room for 3 hours looking for bugs and waiting to leave. I don't have the luxury to call it done and travel home early. I have spend this evening steaming my clothes, shoes, computer bag and suitcase at a different hotel chain and I am afraid of the new hotel bed even though I have thoroughly inspected the mattress, sheets, head board, all seams, ECT and sprayed all concealed areas with PC duster. I failed to mention I have strong reactions to insect bites to add another level discomfort to those horrible experience. Steer clear of this hotel. I will likely be sleeping in the bathtub tonight. The front desk apologized but nothing more and I showed the pictures. The night manager just kept saying this has never happened. Well, now it has. I have yet to get the automated survey from Marriott.
