Residence Inn Bloomington

I’m here as of right now on a business trip, I’d like to say the room is very spacious, and has a lot of amenities. The front desk service from Tammy is just terrible , the only person who has been helpful would be the night time guys who aren’t disrespectful or unpleasant. I had called in the morning to request house keeping mainly for towels ,( I’ve been staying here for three days already) I did bring my daughter with me and wanted to bathe her I waited three hours until I called again and Tammy answers the phone only to say “ housekeeping went to your room and you denied “ she then proceeds to tell me the room they went to and it was the one next to me again another inconvenience based off inaccurate information from the phone call due to her catty attitude and rushing the call. Overall everything else is good she just needs proper training and communication skills to improve a better atmosphere in the front.

Hotel room was nice and clean front desk on Friday night were great. However Saturday morning breakfast was absolutely terrible. We came down at 9am and there was nothing. I mean NOTHING. oh wait, yellow oranges and 2 boxes of crap cereal and two hard bagels. The potatoes were not cooked and cold yet in the warmer. The eggs were runny and there was no meat. No syrup, no orange juice and the place was a mess. When I went to the front desk she stared at me and then walked to the back and pointed to a man in a black sweat suit. He said whats the problem. I said can we get some fruit or something. He brought out green bananas. My husband asked for a manager you brought out some syrup but she didn't speak at all. I then asked for some cereal. She was not verbal but brought out a box and proceeded to put cereal out. The front desk throughout the day had earbud in, didn't look anyone in the eye and actually had their back to us as we walked out. I emailed customer service about this and they emailed me back and gave me points on my account. Who cares. For $400 a night with breakfast included there should be breakfast! Not to mention I was there for the State Special Olympics in Bloomington and my daughter was an athlete and she had no breakfast! I expect way more from a Marriott hotel.

A beautiful property. Very nice staff. Accommodating. But a few issues. The air conditioner is located in the room next to the bed and extremely loud. The vent is on the wall and blows directly at the bed. It was and almost sounded like a truck idling outside the room. Rooms do not have safes. When checking in we were not greeted because both desk clerks were looking at their phones. Breakfast was problematic. They were out of coffee and no one was checking in on it. It took almost 15 minutes before they had another Coffee available. They were out of their breakfast sandwiches. When they finally did appear, they weren’t very good. One of our friends noticed that the people who were working in the kitchen were just standing around and not checking anything. Trash was overflowing. We actually had to go get something to eat elsewhere, which is a first for Marriott. In the morning when we went to check out, the staff was eating at the front desk. It’s not very professional. Manager was lovely and helpful.

This hotel is in a convenient location, just a couple minutes from my company's corporate headquarters. The room was clean and spacious. The bed was comfortable and the shower was nice. I was surprised that my room had a full kitchen, including a fridge, microwave, and cooktop. If I visit my company's headquarters again, I'll definitely stay here.

Our overnight here was ok. A nice sized room on the top floor. Good air conditioning but very loud. When the unit kicked in it was right next to the bad. Very noisy. Bed was ok comfortable. One thing I did notice. I am a bit of a neat freak and I happened to drop something on the bathroom floor. I really don’t like to see hair and dirt in corners. I think a bit more floor cleaning would be better.

I stayed overnight in the two-bedroom suite with my husband and four young children. The toilets in both rooms were dirty - one was full of hair/ debris and the other was full of urine on the seat and over the entire toilet. The body wash container attached to the wall was also empty. During my shower, I had to exit my bathroom and go to my children's bathroom to get soap. Upon arrival to breakfast at 9AM - there was no breakfast. The eggs, sausage, and bacon containers were all empty and we were told will not be replenished. All of the carpets, common areas, and general appearance of the hotel appeared dirty. I travel regularly for business and have been a Marriott member for years. This is far below average expectations for a Marriott property.
