The hosts at The Barracks were delightful and very warming. Check-in was incredibly seamless, and the room we stayed in was very cozy. The historic building in which the BnB is located made things even more charming and worthwhile. The accommodation was spacious, well-ventilated, and very comfortable.
The only slight downside is that the WiFi disappeared halfway through the stay and didn't reappear again. Otherwise, things were amazing, including the breakfast that was cooked for us by one of the hosts. Highly recommend this as a place to stay!

Fully secured garden for peace of mind when 2 tiny yorkies were off leashes. Lots of extra touches for us humans too! Fabulous!

The Barracks is ideally located within walking distance of Colesberg's most popular restaurants, our room and bathroom were spacious and comfortable, breakfast was delicious, the hosts were very friendly and helpful and the historical background to the building is an added bonus. Highly recommended!

My wife and I had unit 6 which has a lovely private courtyard which good shade trees. Unit sleeps 4 but we were not sure how one would use the other 2 beds as all the beds are in one big room. Good bathroom. Full suite DSTV which is not usual ! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

As usual, our stay at The Barracks was a pleasure. Especially after a long drive through the Karoo en route to Gauteng. Our room was comfortable, spacious and well appointed and the welcome sherry perfectly placed on our patio table was a lovely touch. Annalie and Mike are super knowledgeable and gracious hosts. For dinner, Annalie had prepared delicious Karoo lamb chops with roasted vegetables. I requested a “doggy bag” because the portions were so generous. I would never hesitate to recommend a stay at The Barracks. It’s a pity we could not stay longer. Thank you Mike and Annalie!

The Barracks is a comfortable and well equipped place for a stop-over when travelling down the N1. The room was comfortable and the building is steeped in history.
