Lovely place to stay

Hotel was tidy and comfortable, would not waste money on food. £25 for two all you can eat breakfast which was freezing cold and like it had been sat there since putting out hour prior to our time slot.

Do not park here - there is not free parking - Staff did not register my car and I have been charged a huge parking fine. Staff here were completely incompetent, do not answer when I have called multiple times and just refer to the manager who it seems does not show up to work often. Very poor service, I expect more from a big company

We have stayed here over the last 10 years on many occasions- this time we have to say that the hotel is looking tired and in need of serious updating- this coupled with the fact that the Beefeater next door has closed and is being run only for Hotel guests by 2 staff only!! That area is also jaded and feels grubby. As ever the staff are excellent and are very pleasant with everyone.

Great staff, good clean hotel, nice food and drinks. Staff were really friendly. Will definitely rebook next time I'm the area.

When I first saw the hotel I nearly kept going! It looks almost derelict from the outside and in desperate need of a makeover. However!! Inside was a pleasant surprise. The room was clean and the beds were the comfiest I have stayed in. Stayed midweek so very quiet overnight, mostly tradesmen in. The beefeater pub next door was really nice, breakfast was excellent with a choice of cooked or continental. They had a variety of of choices to suit most people. The staff were also very friendly and helpful. It is by a busy road but you couldn’t hear the traffic from the room. Really nice hotel, couldn’t fault it except for the exterior.

Lovely staff very welcoming and helpful but what a shame about the sad state of the hotel which looks in desperate need of a refurbishment, carpets dirty multiple signs of water leaks in the corridor ceilings. The restaurant and bar are about to close which is a worry as much of the menu and drinks weren't available yet despite this the staff service was excellent both in the evening and at breakfast. Premier Inn really need to think about their closure plan and what guests will do when they stay.

Have used this particular hotel a number of times and it’s usually been adequate. However on this occasion it was not. The room was 26° C the whole time which made sleeping very difficult. The fan provided was extremely low quality and possibly didn’t adhere to British safety standards (according to the sticker on the side). Even at its highest setting it barely provided a breeze and was ridiculously noisy. We asked for another, better fan, but were sent an identical useless one. The WiFi stopped working as well as the TV. We were given a voucher for free ultimate WiFi so we were able to “watch” TV on my phone. The staff were helpful and polite but it felt as if the guests have become a nuisance. I shall not be using premier inns any time soon

5th time staying at this hotel, as our daughter is in Liverpool for University. This was a poor experience so probably the last time we stay. Bedroom and bathroom are tired looking. Beds didnt have duvets on, had them on top of wardrobe, but who wants to make a bed when you get there late? One duvet appeared to be stained (blood) Yuk! Bathroom looks tired, some black around bath, flooring had clearly had significant leak in past, so was discoloured, and bowing under foot, felt unsafe. Wifi, basically unusable due to poor signal. Verified on all 5 devices myself and family had. So pointless to offer free wifi, Didnt bother stumping up for the premium, given the signal issues, but also, useable wifi should be a given nowadays. Free parking is a bonus, but the hotel is used by lots of trades people, so get there late, and you are pushed to find a spot for all the vans in the carpark, that make navigating the carpark very difficult. Lots of potholes in carpark also. Also with all the trades people there, they are up early to get to work, so very noisy around 6am as they all get ready for work, we were on ground floor and noise from upstairs and corridor outside disturbed us all. Shame as we liked this hotel but will try alternatives now for next year of uni and visits.
