Hotels with Parking in Borehamwood

Me ang my 2 kids (15yrs) stayed here for 1 night as we were going to winter wonderland with friends who live in Borehamwood. I thought it would be easier to park at the friends place for the day, use public transport to london, then drive to the hotel (15 mins away) when we returned from the park. The access to London via train and underground was easy , fast and cheap, I think it took just over an hour. I had pre booked and paid for the hotel but didn’t arrive until we returned at around 11-11.30pm, I did call ahead and tell them we were going to be late and they assured me it was fine and there was plenty of parking. When we arrived we were met at reception by a young lady and a young man who were chatty and helpful. We had booked a family room, which was clean and ideal, we had no issues at all. The following morning, we had breakfast, I wouldn’t normally bother but the deal online was you get 2 kids free with 1 paying adult so it was a bargain really. The food was being refilled when we got there 9am Ish and was just what you would expect, bacon, egg, sausage etc, juices, coffee and tea. We all ate and enjoyed. The staff in the dining area were happy and helpful, they sat us at our table and told us where everything was and left us to help ourselves. We had no issues at all for our night here, the staff were friendly, rooms were clean and breakfast was ideal. Next time we visit i would book here again without doubt

The hotel is perfect for its price range. No room service, which is a minus, night staff found more friendly. Ac not heating enough. Beds abit low and hard mattresses. However, it’s a good hotel overall.

Considering this was more expensive that the other hotels in the area, the whole experience was a joke, the only good bit was the chirpy guy at reception when we arrived. Other hotel managers walking around in suits but not one Said hi! Customer led industry or not? The dinner was okay, but defiantly over priced! The breakfast was awful, the refrigerator for yogurts etc was not cold, you advertise Starbucks everywhere then serve rubbish coffee with breakfast and the juice is just awful, with way too much sugar in! The hot breakfast too was hot held and rubbery, supposedly cooked to order as so quiet but that is certainly not the truth, cold rubbery and extremely greasy! The water in the lobby was still left from the night before, beer bottles still on tables . The staff need some serious training which wasn’t there fault and you can see they are embarrassed. Such a shame as previous holiday inns have been okay but this place needs a shake up and management needs to do their jobs!
