The Crown Hotel, Boroughbridge, North Yorkshire

We were looking for a hotel with a pool - for a relaxing 2 day break. Came across this hotel which seemed to have everything we wanted. It has easy and secure parking. The room, whilst not big had everything we needed - bath and shower, comfortable bed and pillows, coffee pod machine, tea and biscuits. The staff were, without exception, excellent - friendly, polite, professional and efficient. They could not have done more to make our stay comfortable. The pool was lovely - easily big enough. There was a jacuzzi, a steam room and a sauna. This is not a spa with treatments but it is a lovely place to have a swim and relax. The changing room could be upgraded and only had one cubical - but it was acceptable. The food was good. There was a very good choice and it was fairly priced. Wine was a bit pricey - house wine £30 but they were all good wines - so you didn't mind paying. There was a coffee area serving coffee and cakes throughout the day and a well stocked bar. It was a very relaxing place to stay- very good value (they were doing some good one and two night deals) and very enjoyable. Boroughbridge is a good location - close to Harrogate, Knaresborough, York and easy access to the two Yorkshire National Parks I would recommend and we are looking forward to returning'

Myself, my brother and sister stayed for just one night. We separate room, all of which were nice. We had a great stay. The food in the restaurant was nice with a big food menu, and a good drinks menu. The staff were more than helpful, assisting with food and drink questions. There was limited parking but it was secure which was good piece of mind. We would definitely recommend it.

We stayed just for 1 night the 17th February 2025 to celebrate my mothers 96th birthday. From the moment we arrived the staff were amazing. From the greeting on arrival to the departure every single member of staff were ultra polite,friendly,helpful and just so efficient. I must say the general manager Emma was a lovely lady who showed my mum fabulous attention with humour and charm. The hotel has been refurbed and its great. We used the leisure facilities and they were excellent. We ate lunch and dinner in the hotels restaurant. Again the food quality and the service were excellent. We would like to thank the whole team for your efficient kind warm hospitality. You all deserve a rise !!!!! Thanks again Phil,Tim and Millie x

Went to the Crown boroughbridge for the night to celebrate our friends birthday. There were 6 of us. We were made to feel so welcome from start to finish. The food was excellent. The other guests were very friendly as well. We will definitely be staying again and will recommend to others.

The food was terrible. The worst meal I have had for a long time. A small, bland, overcooked piece of chicken which was like chewing leather, with some undercooked chips. How they have the nerve to charge £17 for it I don't know. I didn't get chance to complain however, as nobody checked if everything was OK (it wasn't), and nobody came to clear my plate for several minutes afterwards, so I just left.
