Having never booked a self contained apartment before, coupled with some of the pictures and previous reviews, I was slightly worried about the quality of the apartment, I needn't have worried, too much. The apartment itself was wonderful. So clean and with nearly everything you need for a long weekend stay. Almost!! We stayed in room 11, at the top of the house via a couple of flights of stairs, one set was VERY narrow; but that was ok for us. The decor was good, the kitchenette was very well equipped and the bedroom looked so pretty. Now, the bad points....that bed!!!! Oh my word! Apart from it being a double bed (it was advertised as king-size) it was so, so uncomfortably hard. So hard that I had to put the spare duvet and blanket under the sheet to help alleviate the pain of what was akin to sleeping on the floor. That clearly didn't work so we had to go to the local supermarket the next day and buy a thick mattress topper to go on the bed too. It helped, but it wasn't great. I bumped into one of the cleaners in the hallway the next morning who said they'd even asked the owner to change the bed but it had fallen on deaf ears. The next issue we had was with the sofa bed in the lounge. That has clearly been used, alot, as it was equally as uncomfortable to sit on. Then there was the shower. The shower itself was amazing, so powerful, but unfortunately the spray from the shower went way past the glass screen and would flood the bathroom floor. They just need a longer screen or perhaps add a shower curtain. There was no signage to tell you how to get to the garden even though it advertised 'outdoor furniture'. There was no socket near the bed, even though it was advertised. There is no separate bedroom, it's a click clack sofabed in the lounge. Would we go back? Only if at the bare minimum we could guarantee that the bed and sofa had been upgraded or we chose a different room.
