"I had such a great stay in Tacheng, thanks to the hotel’s owner! When I planned my Yunnan trip and asked AI to help me (because of the lack of online information in English), and it recommended me to go to Tacheng to see the snub-nosed monkeys, little did I know that nothing could be done there without a car. Fellow travelers, just so you know: there are no bus stations nor taxis in Tacheng. I of course only realized it once I arrived. I felt dumb (no I do not have a car nor a driver), but the hotel’s owner was super kind and gave my friend and I free roundtrip rides, to the hotel and in the early morning to the Snub-nosed Monkey Park (that is closeby). Because the closest restaurant was 42 km away, we were given a generous and delicious dinner. (It was supposed to be 50 rmb but at the end the boss made it free.) I’m vegetarian and the boss accommodated me. The breakfast, that was included in the price, was also generous and delicious. As for the hotel, it was beautiful and comfortable. There’s a really nice living room (we were given free fruits and free beer!) and a really nice patio as well. The room was clean, the pillows were so soft and the shower was surprisingly techno. I slept very well, even though a rooster started to crow in the early morning (so remember to close the window before going to sleep). In the evening, we walked in the surroundings and I liked it so much, it was picturesque and peaceful. My stay in Tacheng could’ve been a nightmare but thanks to the hotel’s owner, I really enjoyed it (and I got to see the famous snub-nosed monkeys!) So I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel, where I didn’t expect so much kindness and generosity."

"Opening the window revealed a rice paddy. It was a pity we went at the wrong time of year, but the morning air was incredibly fresh. The courtyard was filled with the owner's flowers and plants: ginkgo, ugly orange, and lantern flowers. The sunlight streaming into the courtyard was so comforting. The guesthouse was run by a young couple and had a very homey feel. The rooms were spacious and cozy, the mattresses were super comfortable, and the owners were incredibly welcoming. Since we arrived quite late and it was a bit chilly, the owners warmly invited us to chat by the grill and even brought us some ice wine to try. The owner's wife made a bouquet of dried flowers from fallen ginkgo leaves in the yard, which I loved and gave to me. The breakfast was very characteristic of the Naxi people and incredibly plentiful. The corn was so sweet I ate a whole ear and was stuffed! Although we were a bit rushed, I couldn't resist taking a stroll around the guesthouse area to soak in the warmth and simplicity. Next time I have the chance to go to Weixi, I'll definitely choose this place again."

"As soon as Weixi entered the door on a business trip, he was attracted by the decoration style of the homestay. It was simple and stylish. Every detail revealed the intention and taste. The room was clean and tidy, the bedding was super comfortable, and I slept well until dawn! "It was a surprise to stay in this B&B in Tacheng County. The room is very spacious, bright, clean and tidy. The bathroom is separated into wet and dry areas. The room is very comfortable as a whole. "The hotel is quite large for the area, so the parking lot is also quite large, which is rare in the area, and can probably accommodate over 20 cars. The owner can arrange interactions with locals, home visits, and cultural heritage experiences. The bedding and toiletries are excellent. The shower has strong water pressure and plenty of water, and the shower floor drain drains quickly, preventing water from accumulating. Breakfast, tea/coffee, and meals by the fields are a fantastic setting. I found the breakfast delicious, featuring local, seasonal ingredients. Tacheng isn't as well-known as Shangri-La in Lijiang. At an altitude of around 2,400 meters, the climate is excellent, and it's definitely worth a 2-3 night stay to experience it all. You can hike, harvest, meditate, and more. Most importantly, local ethnic minorities (think Tibetans and Lisu) still live here. From your room or balcony, you can see the fields working in the distance. I have to say Songtsam's location is a sure win. (This is not a review of the Songtsam Hotel.) There are also many boutique B&Bs in the area, all very unique, so be sure to book in advance."

"It seems like this is the better one in this area? Some feelings are as follows 1. Is there a dirty spot on the pillowcase? 2. The mobile TV set-top box cannot be used and the remote control is out of power? There were also network problems and the bedside light switch was broken. 3. The shower head is broken... 4. The air conditioner doesn’t produce cold air at all… (deficient in fluorine)? 5. Breakfast is good 6. Parking spaces are tight 😓 7. The door does not have damping...it will scare people when the door next door is closed at night."
