We spent our 6 year Anniversary and valentines on Arran as a little getaway from Glasgow and we could not be more pleased with our choice of b&b!! We will definitely be back, with friends, with eachother, with our parents - with whoever ! It was very very humbly priced, clean, homey and functional (everything you need in a b&b!). All I look for in a short stay B&B trip is clean, safe, welcoming, value for money, cosy and anything else is a bonus! Belvedere did not disappoint! Bedrooms were tidy and warm, clean with nice smelling bed linen (some b&bs smell a bit damp or a bit like the linen has been sat too long in the cupboard). We could warm our towels on the bathroom towel warmer, and our jackets were always toasty because of where the coat hooks are placed over the radiator (IDEAL for the very cold Scottish weather outside !!) (also I’m stealing that idea and immediately screwing coat hooks above my radiator in the hall) We had a really peaceful, lovely stay with Allan at Belvedere. He was chatty and welcoming, full of stories and suggestions for places to eat - we recommend Little Rock for coffee and Parlour for brilliant pizza and ice cream! And Arran Botanicals for a gorgeous sea view cocktail!! Now I can’t leave a review of Belvedere without mentioning the breakfast!! Not many b&bs offer a vegetarian breakfast option other than cereal (at the price point I was looking at) never mind an actually yummy, carefully prepared vegetarian breakfast ! Beautiful local eggs, HOMEMADE vegetarian sausage (shaped like a heart for valentines ,no less!) tomatoes and beans and mushrooms and plenty of toast and even a freshly prepared fruit salad!! Oh and alol looking at a beautiful sea view! Allan works very hard to make this such a brilliant stay, and you feel so looked after. He was kind enough to look after our bags after we checked out, until we got the final ferry home to Glasgow - which he didn’t have to do but we felt very safe doing. I’m so sorry that anyone has felt like they had to write a bad review of this place as it really really deserves its five star rating, I cannot imagine people not liking this place - it does everything it says on the tin and more!! Please stay here! Alan’s lovely partner was over visiting too and she was very smiley with breakfast on our second morning and I hear they have hopes of running walking tours together and I wish them every success for their business ventures and marriage in the summer! Will be back soon! Violet xx

Just returned from staying in this establishment. The property is an excellent example of what a B and B should be, clean, warm, good shower, loads of electric sockets, value for money ( if you can, book direct) with an excellent breakfast all combined with an attentive, friendly, extremely helpful host. What’s not to like!

First time staying at the Belvedere. It was a birthday break for me. What an amazing stay we had! Allan made us feel so welcome. We stayed in room 2 which has a truly spectacular sea veiw. Our room was so cosy and warm and comfortable that it was a struggle to leave it to explore Arran. The breakfast was AMAZING and Allan went out of his way to ensure our little island break was everything we hoped for. We can't wait to stay at the Belvedere again!

I can't believe that a proprietor of a guest house can make up so much lies just because I complained about not getting breakfast!. Hes clearly a very childish man with a problem. I'm so glad we visited the local pub, where we discovered his reputation exceeds him.! Apparently no-one locally, will go near him. We took photos of the room as we were leaving as my instincts told me, he was trouble. I was proved right.

Stay FAR AWAY from this guest house This guy is a lying dangerous man. He never turned up to breakfast he was MIA so the breakfast we paid for was never made and then when we messaged to say he hadn’t turned up he then send a message full of lies about how we left the room. We spoke to locals in the nearby bar the night before and was told of the really bad reputation he has on the island to take photos of the room before we left as he is a huge liar to try and get money out of you. Seriously avoid this place like the plague. I’ll attach images of the screenshot of him calling us ‘clatty pigs’ and the false allegations and then the photos of how we actually left the room. Nobody in the area will offer any building, plumbing etc trade to him because of his horiffic reputation and now we realise why. The guest house smells musty and disgusting so he has a huge cheek to try and lie about us. The breakfast the morning before was all burnt I couldn’t even eat it.

An excellent place to stay when on Arran, located just behind the shore of Brodick, close to the hustle and bustle but very quiet. Had the downstairs double room with shower, spacious, comfortable, warm. The guesthouse has a dining room with two big tables, a lounge and a garden. It overlooks the harbour of Srran and is very close to a Co-op super. Breakfast was prepared by Allan and was delicious with loads of choice and nice touches like the edible flower. Allan is very friendly and always in for a natter.

A fantastic weeks stay with a group exploring Arran every day. Alan is a great host, very attentive and chatty. 2 of us were in the self catering unit which is excellent. The breakfasts are fantastic, cooked to order and very fresh. Thanks again Alan and see you next hear!

Allan ensured we were well looked after during our stay. We enjoyed a hearty Scottish breakfast each morning (each individually made to suit everyone's preference) and an opportunity to chat and find out more about the island. Rooms were clean and we had a beautiful view from ours. Would recommend to friends and family.
