The hostel is in a great location, recently modernised, clean, comfortable and fairly quiet. Unfortunately, the hostel owner was quite rude and aggressive to me, and totally unhelpful. I had booked and paid for my room a week in advance of coming. I had made it clear in my booking that I was coming by bicycle and would need a secure place to keep my bicycle. I did not get a reply to my request, but naturally assumed that it was not an issue. When I arrived in the early evening, being tired from having cycled 90km, I was told by the receptionist (who proved to be very helpful in the end unlike her boss!) that I could not bring my bicycle into the hostel. I was reluctant to leave my bicycle locked up outside due to its value. I explained to the receptionist that I had made it clear when I had booked that I would need a secure place to keep my bicycle. She called the owner and passed the phone to me, who spoke to me at great length about how he had spent a lot of money renovating the hostel and that I would cause damage by bringing my bike into the hostel. He then came to the hostel to explain this all again to me in person (at further great length!). I responded saying that I was not denying he had invested money in the hostel, but I had made it clear in my booking that I would need a secure place to keep my bicycle and that he should have declined my booking if couldn't accommodate my request. At first, the owner denied getting my request, then he finally conceded that he had, indeed, received it, but didn't have time to respond to all the e-mails he received. This was a feeble excuse to use. If it was an issue, he should have stated so at the point of receiving the booking. The only saving grace was the receptionist who was extremely helpful and recommended a public underground bicycle parking place, a short distance from the hostel, which had CCTV and bicycle racks to lock your bike to and the whole site was locked between 23h00 and 07h00. The receptionist was kind enough to take me to the parking place as I wasn't too sure where it was. It would have been nice if the owner hadn't been so aggressive and could have been equally polite and helpful as his employee was. After the initial episode of being concerned about where to keep my bicycle secure for the night, I enjoyed my stay and would recommend staying at the hostel, as it is conveniently located, comfortable and good value. If you're a cyclist, I do recommend the secure parking place (although the maximum stay is 24 hours) or you might wish to find another hotel that could provide a secure place to keep your bicycle.

Incredibly convenient location - right in the centre of Bruges, 5-10 minutes' walk to all the main landmarks and sights to see. Only 15 minutes' walk to the train station - nearer than most other centrally located places in Bruges. My room was on the top floor - the stairs are fairly steep so wouldn't recommend going there with large suitcases. However, the view was amazing - my windows had views across the rooftops of the whole of Bruges! The room was clean, well decorated and felt more like a hotel than a hostel. There is a mini-fridge provided. Heating was very good - the night I stayed was cold but the room stayed warm and comfortable. Reception staff were friendly and welcoming. The only issue I can think of is that the toilet and shower were in the same room as the bedroom without a door to separate them - but this was not really a problem. The value for money is great - the ensuite rooms here cost about 20 euros less than comparable rooms at other hostels in Bruges, which are far less nice (and less centrally located). I would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Bruges!

The accommodation is conveniently located for access to the town. However, it is a 15 minute walk from the train station. As stated the clue is in the name. This is very clearly stated as a hostel and not a hotel in any way. There is simply a small reception desk and simple rooms located up very steep staircase. Access to the unmanned reception and rooms is by two separate supplied, electronic PIN numbers. The rooms are small and whilst clean have simply a bed, 2 folding chairs, - no TV, no USB ports and a simple wall mounted electric heater. Ensuite bathrooms have been installed to the rooms but these are extremely small and water gets all over the floor, resulting in quite a damp smell. All this would be totally acceptable if the pricing reflected the standard, however, at the weekend the prices increase to 190€ per night. The staff however, are super friendly and helpful. I would only return mid week when the pricing falls to a realistic level.

Very central pension-style hotel, every part of 'tourist'-Brugge within walking distance. Judging by the pictures, the hotel has been renovated, because our room was clean, fresh and reasonably sized. The bed was great. The bathroom and bedroom are not fully seperate, which was fine, but could be awkward for some people. The staff was very friendly and helpful, it's highly advisable to ask them for tips and must-sees. The all-day breakfast place down the street was utterly charming, and easily accessible from the hotel.

Location was perfect, bed super comfy and owner was absolutely fantastic, knowledgeable and helpful. Really loved our stay. It would have been great to have a kettle in the room. Ear plugs are in the reception which are needed after 7am due to delivery's.... would definitely return... with a travel kettle lol

Decevant.
