My partner and I wanted to spend a nice holiday on the Moselle. We stayed two nights in this hotel and were glad when we could leave. Summary: Terrible rooms, bad staff, bad treatment of guests, you are forgotten twice as a guest, bad food. Not recommended! It started on the day of arrival. First of all, we couldn't find any reception at the address given. We asked in the restaurant of the same name on the other side. As it turned out, that was also "the reception". So you check in at a counter in a restaurant. We were immediately informed that we were not allowed to park next to the hotel. There was a free space about 500m away on a gravel lot. So much for parking at the hotel. There was also no sign of the welcome drink we had booked. The room was tiny and was only topped by the 0.5m² bathroom. The furnishings had not been modernized since the 70s. A crack ran across the entire ceiling, including the bathroom. The tiny TV (also around 10 years old) offered no less than 4 channels in catastrophic quality. The entire room is carpeted, which hasn't been properly cleaned for X years. In the bathroom, in addition to the crack in the ceiling, there was still a lot of mold. This also extended into the wood of the door frame. If you wanted to wash your face there, you had to leave the door open because you couldn't bend down properly due to the size of the room. Much worse for us, however, was the way we were treated as guests. We were told right at the start that you would be assigned a fixed place for breakfast and dinner in the dining room for the duration of your stay. So on the first morning we waited for someone to show us the place in question. However, we had to wait 15 minutes for this because there was no sign of the staff. In the evening, our table was double occupied. Only after a long discussion were we offered a "side table" in the far corner. We insisted that we at least get a normal table for breakfast. The next morning we were forgotten for breakfast again. Even though we clearly pointed this out. So we sat at the table again that is only intended for putting things down. This is not surprising, since none of the staff, apart from two people, speak German. The food offered little choice in the morning or in the evening. The evening meal was also ice cold and tasteless. We are deeply disappointed with the entire stay. One star is too good for this performance.

Been here in June. We have room 14, very small with a view of... yes, of what actually? Despite the information provided, parking spaces are hardly available in the area. The hotel feels unwelcoming. The rooms themselves are clean, but our room was not cleaned for a day. Apparently our rhythm does not match that of the cleaning crew. (We leave at 10.30 that day) The restaurant seems like a soup kitchen. Food is buffet style and not bad. Dishes are often gone and replenishment takes forever. I did a bit of counting, but a line of 18 or more people waiting at the buffet is no exception. Tip: turn a long buffet into 3 smaller ones. There is no option of choosing your own table. Everyone has their own table. There must be order! I would let that go. Serves no purpose. The hotel is messily decorated and looks very dated. Bruttig Fankel is located along the Moselle and is a nice town. The attraction in the area is Cochem. The hotel does not participate in the 'guest card' for public transport. The bus ride is very expensive. We no longer charge 4.60 for a 10-minute ride. Then we'd rather take the car. We are fortunate that the annual wine festival in Bruttig Fankel coincides with our visit. Is fun.

Komfort sucht man hier vergeblich.
