Osborn House

Overall, it was a nice stay. The staff are lovely and the massages were excellent. However, for $900-$950 per night, to have a view of the solar panels on the roof, and to have to call reception each night to ask to turn off the courtyard lights because we couldn’t sleep, to be able to hear people walking past our room and talking at reception and also to have no extraction fan in the bathroom and have to smell the toilet after being used through the room, it’s not worth it unfortunately and we would not return. I understand there are more expensive rooms which are nicer, but for that price, we expect better. Also while the breakfast is tasty, it should be a buffet for this level of hotel and pricing. Also, we would recommend that the car keys from valet should be kept at the back in a safe, not just a drawer at reception. The pricing of the cocktails is also really absurd. Even the most expensive bars in Sydney don’t charge upwards of $30 for a cocktail. While we appreciate that staff quickly attended to the light issue when we would call, it’s really not acceptable to not have curtains that cover the whole window, and also to charge $900-$950 a night for a room with view of solar panels and air conditioning units. When we raised these issues with the hotel, they offered us on our next visit to give us a complimentary upgrade to the Forest Lodge (meaning we would still have to pay the rate of a standard room which in this case cost us $900+ per night). After a disappointing stay, we do not want to give this accomodation even more money fo ra subsequent stay when we can just stay elsewhere for MUCH cheaper. When we asked for a partial refund they said no - hence why we have now decided to leave this review so other travellers can beware of the room they choose. EXCELLENT :Staff,accommodation, and food. Two nights stay and completely satisfied. The staff have everything under control. Valet service is.much appreciated and luggage delivered and collected fro your room. Every member of staff that we encountered met us with a smile and a friendly word. Would love to return one day!

This is a lovely property with five star accommodation and service. Our premier suite was terrific - spacious with a very comfortable bed, sitting area and large bathroom. Lots of thoughtful touches including real tea in the room, not tea bags! Within the house there are a number of very pleasant lounge areas in addition to the main communal space. If the weather had been better, it looked like there could have been a nice view and inviting outdoor areas in which to sit. The big disappointment was the quality of the food in “The Bar” restaurant for dinner. The food was pricey and we were expecting food to match. The main restaurant was not open while we were there. Breakfast, however, was very nice. I have given the property five stars but I would have preferred to give it 4.5 as the food offering definitely needs improving.

I recently spent two nights in a Premier Suite at Osborn House with my wife. On arrival the experience was immediately special - Valet parking, drink on arrival, excellent welcoming staff and such a beautiful location and facility. We took advantage of many of the Osborn House services/offerings, enjoying the pool and spa-bath with bar service from the team. We enjoyed breakfast on the balcony overlooking national parkland, played tennis and walked around the grounds. Over our stay my wife enjoyed two different treatments at the spa, both she was very happy with. There were also many a quiet corner for me to send a few emails over a glass of wine whilst she was at the spa. Our room was beautiful, quiet, comfortable and had everything we needed. It was as good as the pictures look. On location: It was easy to get to from the Hume Hwy, and being a short drive away from Berrima, Moss Vale, and Bowral, Osborn House was also a great base for us to explore/experience the highlands. The staff were outstanding end-to-end, and couldn't have been more helpful. Thank you Osborn House for a great stay, we were sad to leave!

This is the most over rated establishment we have been to in the last, 15 years! The only positives is the staff. The room we were in had 2 chairs, both were so small I think were from a childs nursery. We did,nt pay for this. Our daughter and son inlaw generously gave it as a present. If your thinking about going to this place, DONT! I don,t give reviews like this without carefully thinking, I know every business needs to make money, but this place is not what people expect for the price! Stayed on 30 and 31st november. An outstanding hotel in every way. Rooms, decor, facilities, views, dining and service are all excellent. Highlights include the proximity for bush walks in Morton National Park. An evening walk to the Glow Worm Glen is a special delight.
