Premier Inn Cardiff Bay

good and no issue

Close to the Cardiff Bay area and a very short bus to the main city and Cardiff Castle. Breakfast was excellent (but no muesli). Rooms spacious but no fridge (I think that the UK don't do fridges) we did enjoy our stay and would fully recommend staying here. Car park is next door at a multi carpark which is subsidised by the hotel @ 25 - 30%.

For context this was probably the biggest weekend of music in Cardiff this year. Alanis Morisette fans were in town, Oasis fans and the biggest Metal gig this year, in Blackweir. 10'000 of music fans filling all hotels. Paying hundreds of pounds for a room to find the bar closed is not acceptable. Was not a late night reveller, just left the gig and returned to the hotel for a night cap not an uncommon practice, to find the bar closed at 11pm, not even able to purchae a couple of bottles for the room. For the price of the rooms, over £300 you'd expect some hopitatlity, some foresight could have made for happy customers and for the hotel a happy till balance. Instead a poor decision, maybe a circumstance but still with the amount of people at the hotel it should have been covered.

We stayed here as we were seeing a concert in Principality stadium. It’s about 1.5 miles away from the stadium but an uber takes about 15 minutes and it’s nice and far enough away that there’s not loads of traffic around. There’s no car parking at the hotel but the building next door is literally a huge Q Park. It’s easy to find and use. You can validate your parking ticket in the reception area too for a cheaper parking price. The rooms was fine, it wasn’t the best premier inn room we’ve stayed in. The room itself was clean and the beds were comfy but the bathroom didn’t feel that clean. There was a lot of rust and gunk build up around the soap and shower gel dispensers and broken shower curtain loops etc. which made it feel a bit crusty. Breakfast was very pleasant as always. It’s hot and there was plenty of it. We went down for breakfast around 9.30 and some pastry bits were slim pickings but we chose to eat later so that’s on us. It’s a great location if you’re wanting to be in the Cardiff Bay Area, it’s less than a 5 minute walk to Mermaid Quay

We had a great experience staying at the Holiday Inn. The rooms were lovely—spotlessly clean and very comfortable. From the moment we arrived, we were given such a warm and friendly welcome, which really set the tone for our stay. All the staff we met were incredibly nice and helpful, always happy to assist with anything we needed. The location is convenient too—parking is just around the corner, and it was really easy to get Ubers into Cardiff city centre. Would definitely stay here again!
